You couldn’t tell where the dog poop stopped and the human poop began just outside the back door. They charge $30 per dog and have “strict” rules without any follow through- otherwise it wouldn’t be trashed outside. There were medical gloves all over the ground and a bloody Peri pad along with a belt and other assorted trash in the parking spaces near the door. So gross! It’s almost impossible to walk without getting some kind of poop on your shoes going from your car to the hotel so you can’t go barefoot in the room safely. Sliding door had a crack in the bottom causing a draft.

The Staff was very nice. They are updating/remodeling , but the property is still very clean. The restaurant was a pleasant surprise- top notch service and the menu was impressive and delicious.

It has been about 8 years since I have stayed there, and they are remodeling now and it is beautiful! They are doing a fantastic job, the whole place has a better vibe to it, and they are putting in an elevator! That is the best. The staff were also the best! I WILL stay there again!

The ridiculously slow but excellent renovation of the property is well worth it. By far the best hotel north of Anchorage and south of fairbanks. Staff is great. The restaurant is top notch especially for the area. The bartenders are super awesome. Try the French dip and you won't be disappointed.

It is still under construction but our newly renovated room was nice and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was also pretty good.

First Trip to Alaska
Even though the hotel is undergoing a major renovation, the rooms that were being worked on and the surrounding area was masked off and kept as clean as possible. The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was great and the views from our room and the breakfast room were amazing. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel Is currently under construction so the only Thing I’d have a complaint about is the noise and smell inside the room. Other than that, the new rooms are beautiful and staff are friendly.

Serene and lots of updates!
Stayed one night, I should have stayed more! The room overlooking the lake was serene, loved the updates to the room. The hallway was a little uncomfortable with the renovated rooms having doors open. I’m skittish so makes me think someone will jump out at me. The continental breakfast was great and so was laundry amenity! Will definitely come back on my next Alaska trip!!

First room had horrible scent of human urine. Had to call office person up to smell it. In new room no sign to refuse services so the maid threw away my clothing and a trucks alarm went off every 30 minutes all night on Thursday. Will never stay there again.

We were given the keys to an occupied room. No elevator so up and down stairs multiple times to get things straightened out. We were supposed to have a water view. Got a parking lot view and we’re told it was because we went through a 3rd party. No apologies or concern about the inconvenience.

Was able to check in early with no problem. Front desk clerk was able to answer our questions. The only issue was after we got back to the room after dinner. The TV had sound but no picture & the gentleman they had check it didn't have a clue of what he was doing.

Outside BEAUTIFUL versus inside not good.
Very lacking in breakfast food - very minimal. Can’t get clean towels. Older hotel. BUT the outside and the lake was BEAUTIFUL! Would do it ONLY for the views outside.

Liked that it was convient and quiet. Breakfast was great thought they fell behind on keeping everything filled. I know they are in the middle of a remodel but the restaurant could have been a little more available. Everytime we went to use it it was close or someone had booked the whole place.

The property is next to a lake, the surrounding is very peaceful and quiet. The room is spacious and comfortable. The luxury king suite is truly nice with a kitchenette fully equipped. I enjoyed my stay.
