Helpful, caring and hard working staff.Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Clean and comfortable
Cons: Not limiting the managers reception to 2 complimentary drinks.
Location: Walking distance to Moose's tooth pub and pizzeria. The best pizza and beer from Brooken tooth brewery. The hotel will drop you off downtown.
The staff is constantly striving to make your stay as memorable as possible. Eddy at the front desk recommended several restaurants and activities that were great experiences. The breakfast chef was awesome. She was fast, efficient and friendly. The room was dark enough and quiet (for only 3 hours of darkness). Every staff member was constantly working, cleaning tables, floors and keeping coffee flowing.

Stopover in AnchoragePosted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Reception staff were very helpful and most happy to help. Hotel offer of two free drinks at the bar for each adult was a nice gesture.
Cons: Dinner was good but frequent visits by waiter needs to be addressed. Breakfast was very busy on departure but most food options available.
Location: Location is out of town but hotel shuttle bus available
General experience was good. Room cleanliness was good but marked down for someones gum being left on plastic of glass cover. Hotel was better than most we had stayed in in Alaska and despite the previous comment we would use it again.

Not Your Typical EmbassyPosted Jul 4, 2014
Location: Sears across street and Walmart nearby. Only 5 minutes to downtown. Saw moose up close. 22 mi round, we thought it was 11!
We expected the towering facility with grand atrium, instead you have a more rustic entrance with stuffed bears and such. On the positive side, the fitness facility and pool/massive hot tub or great. Beds are very comfortable and they do have the made to order complimentary b'fast. However, b'fast ends at 0900 and the food on the buffet was marginal (stiff hard oatmeal, burnt meats and stiff clumpy eggs). Lunch was very good and reasonable. As a matter of fact, it was the least expensive meal we purchased the entire trip, which started in Vancouver and cruised the Inside Passage. Check in was slow, taking some 15 minutes, as they had overbooked and had to rearrange room assignments. This worked out okay, but this is the Hilton business model and they oversold me once in Tulsa...we ended up without a room and I was there for a professional convention. Also, wi fi is not complimentary and costs $10 per day per device (I believe).

Very nice roomPosted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Rooms were great...we'd never stayed at an Embassy Suites. We didn't need the main living area room, but the bedroom and bath were fantastic.
Cons: Staff knowledge on things to do. I'm sure many customers are business folks or better prepared vacationers, but that is key knowledge for them.
Location: Not much to do nearby. Sears, Walmart & the movies. Wish we'd bused to town. Though later we talked to folks said there was not much to do in town
We had booked a cruise that left out of Whittier, a few hours south of Anchorage, and decided to fly in a day early to see what Anchorage had to offer. We arrived past 1am and our room was awaiting us with a warm, comfortable king sized bed. Perfect. Upon waking up we headed to get breakfast. I found the breakfast perfect (I don't need my eggs cooked to order) however my husband was a bit grumpy about the long line he had to waiting in to get his over-easy eggs. One chef making "to-order" meals for 20-30 people in line = long wait. Everything else was great. As our trip was somewhat last minute, I didn't have a chance to research what to do in Anchorage...my bad. However, I thought we'd have good luck getting recommendations from the front desk staff. They didn't really have much to offer, they stated that we could take their shuttle into down town but it would be an hour before we could catch the next one offered. We decided to walk across the street to the small mall and look around, ended up walking to Walmart to get a couple items we forgot. Walmart was about a 12 min walk from the hotel. The next bus into town was full however so we decided to walk to the movie theater in the area rather than wait another hour. That walk was about 13 mins. 2nd night's sleep was equally comfortable. Found out later all the things we could have done in Anchorage :( Like I said, my bad for not looking into it prior to trip, but you'd think the local staff would have many recommendations!

Not worth the $$$$$Posted Jun 20, 2014
Location: Location is only 15 minutes from the airport.
Room was a suite, but very small and AC controls did little or nothing to change room temp.

Not quite up to its usual standards!Posted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: The hotel staff was friendly, the breakfast offered in the dining room was great and the pool area was clean and well stocked with towels.
Cons: Disclosing that events were booked that may include loud music - giving us the option to change rooms immediately.
Location: Several good restaurants are nearby, a chain bookstore, movie theater and natural foods grocery are all within a 10 minute walk.
I stayed at this hotel just a couple of months ago, and all was great - but after this most recent stay, I'd give pause to staying here in the future. The room we were given was one floor above the conference area. The check-in desk failed to tell us there was a lively party booked there the night we checked in (Sunday) from 6pm - midnight. The bass from the music was at a level that it was making the desk lights vibrate. When I called the front desk around 9:30 pm to inquire when the party would end (as we needed to be up bright and early Monday morning), I was told it would end at midnight and she seemed surprised that we could hear the music in our room, and and that we had been gave a quite room with a view. I'm was more surprised they couldn't hear the music! The "view" was of a parking lot, with a dumpster directly under our window....and the dumpster was promptly emptied at the crack of dawn each morning. To the hotel's credit, the front desk did offer to help us move to another room. Moving a tired child, packing our stuff up and unpacking seemed to be as much of an inconvenience as gutting out the music for another 2 ½ hours. The cleanliness wasn't up to their usual standards - counters had a couple of spills, something sticky on the floor near the front door -- nothing that we couldn't quickly take care of, but sort of surprising from this hotel.

Airport shuttle handy.Posted May 26, 2014
Microwave in room, but no plates or cutlery. Short walk to sears mall and fred meyers, so good shopping if on a budget. Rooms are spacious, and beds very comfortable. Less than $10 for a taxi from downtown ex-cruise drop off to hotel. Would stay again.

Wonderful staffs but a little bit noisyPosted May 26, 2014
Pros: friendly and helpful staffs
Cons: better sound proofing
Great staffs at front desk. Very convenient shuttle bus to downtown and airport. My husband enjoyed the free drinks in the evening. However, we can hear the talking from the hallway, baby crying at the next room.

NicePosted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: Staff, breakfast, location.
Cons: Bar closed at 11:00.
My daughter, a friend and I stayed at Embassy to make life easier for a class we were taking. Great place.
