“Despite booking in problems, we would use this hotel again.”
We received airport pickup which was good and friendly. When booking in reception gave us a room key but we found the bed unmade, dirty towels on the floor etc. Reception gave us another room key with exactly the same results. Reception then gave us a third key, room was made up but it was a very small inferior room. After complaining we then waited approx an hour, while the receptionist and another staff member cleaned one of the original rooms for us. The room was spacious and well appointed with full kitchen. The beds were comfortable. Every day we were promised that someone would fix our TV remote control and it took 3 days to eventually get done. Pool, gym, laundry and internet use were okay. Housekeeping was poor. Overall we found it good and central for walking to and from shops, restaurants etc. Given the oportunity we would use the hotel again.
“ok for short stay”
We stayed here for one night prior to a cruise. They have a shuttle from the airport (one reason I chose it), but it was out of service when we arrived. A call to the hotel resulted in instructions to take a cab and tell the driver to come into the hotel for payment. This worked fine. Normally their shuttle van is available to take guests to other areas of downtown Anchorage, but that night we were forced to walk ( or take a cab) to a restaurant to eat (at least 1 mile). This would not be bad, but we were jet lagged from the east coast and it was 8pm local time. The next morning the shuttle was running, and they did take us to the pickup point for our transfer to the ship. The room was very basic, but comfortable and clean. The price was great.
“Very nice and clean. Friendly staff.”
Great hotel for the price. Nice location in Anchorage. Near all the shops and museums. Continental breakfast, small fitness area, wifi and very clean rooms. However, no maid service unless requested and for a daily fee. I would stay again though.
“One night stand”
Hotel was pretty good for the price. It is an older hotel. They work to keep it up but could use a remodeling. The location was good, only a few blocks from the main hotels. We stayed one night before leaving on our tour. I would recommend this hotel for that purpose. All in all, the staff was friendly, the service good, and the hotel was clean. I would stay there again for a one night stand.
“Good value”
We booked this on the Expedia "unpublished rate" which is a little disconcerting. However, the hotel was fine - very basic, but was clean and has a stocked mini-kitchen, gym and pool. It would be fine for a business traveler. Location is convenient and parking available.
“Comfortable and quite”
Our stay was great. The kitchenette was the best way for us to spend less on food.
“Good Bargain”
As a teacher, I was attending a course in Anchorage for a week and not eager to spend $200 a night for a room. I almost secured a dorm room at the university until Extended Stay was being offered for a reasonable price. Their complimentary shuttle was unavailable when I arrived at the airport, so the desk clerk told me to take a cab. The hotel paid for the transportation. That was nice. The staff was friendly, check-in a snap, and the room was reasonably clean and quiet. A soiled towel was hanging behind the bathroom door, but that was the only complaint. Services are bare-bones: once a week housekeeping, no in-room toiletries, and continental breakfast consists of only bagels and coffee. But that was not bad considering the price of room compared to similar properties close in town. You will have to walk several blocks to get to a restaurant, so keep that in mind. All in all, a good value.
“Average, but good enough”
Good basic place to stay; 2 chairs, small table, bed, recliner, TV, kitchenette, free coffee. Breakfast is a bagel, coffee, apple or orange, that's it. Dirty towels are exchanged with the front desk clerk. Soap only is provided, but you can get complimentary toiletries at front desk. Decent location. Very small fitness room with 3 machines; tiny square pool.
“Spacious Room for the price”
Extended Stay Deluxe, while by no means deluxe, provided a very large suite which was perfect doing laundry and drying out stuff after a week in the bush. The airport shuttle was not running but the hotel provided us with cab fare to and from the airport.
“Good staff”
The hotel staff were great! There was one nite of mix up (when I had been given a smoking room), but it was amically resolved for the other nites. The best thing about the hotel I think is the fact that they provide shuttle service to the airport. And if the driver is off by the time you arrive, they actually pay for your TAXI!!! Wow, that BLEW me away. There is continental breakfast, and the rooms are furnished with all essentials for "long term stay". Cooking range, full size fridge, microwave, plates, pots, cutlery, kitchen towel, coffee maker, etc. Think "studio apt". Really cool I thought. The ONLY setback is that since the hotel is set up for "extended stay clients", YOUR ROOM/BATHROOM WILL NOT BE CLEANED or YOUR BED MADE for many days. I've always believed that having someone make my bed for a fee was one of the "perks" of staying in a hotel, and I didn't like that aspect. So sorry, you won't be "spoiled" in an "extended stay hotel". If you don't mind making your own bed in a hotel, then it's the place for you.
