Drunks, smelt bad, fire alarm pulled, no room service.

The people at the front desk acted like we were inconveniencing them. No smiles or friendly looks.

Came in and there parking lot was full. ask if we could park next door in city lot, We were told we would get a ticket if we parked there. Ask where to park they told us where ever we could.

“Great Location, price can't be beat.”

Location was great, same street as shops, eateries, mall, and across the street from the farmers market held every weekend. Short walk (block) to the Alaska train station, Ulu factory, and walkway coursing Sheep Creek (several miles long). Not a fancy hotel but adequate for price.

Location is the only advantange of this hotel. Linen is extremely worn. Pillows were worn out. Only one package of coffee for each morning.

“Terrible customer service! Dirty rooms. Will never go back or recommend!”

The front desk clerk was the most u helpful person I've ever had to deal with in customer service. Anytime I saw her, she had a scowl on her face. My room's smoke detector was dying and beeping very loudly and I had to call the front desk 3 times before she sent someone to fix it. It took 7 hours! My bathroom was filthy, hair in the shower, no floor towel or wash rags available. The counter was dirty and there was noticeable dirt on the walls. The pool was closed for reapirs and nothing was posted about it on their website. I am very disappointed and will never again stay at this Howard Johnson. It has certainly gone downhill.

“Not at all impressed or satisfied!!”

When we got there, they did not have our reservation in their computer, we were already exhausted from driving from Fairbanks, but we had to stand there and wait about 30 minutes while the front desk person talked to travelocity. The hallways are extremely long, and I'm 6 months pregnant, and we stayed on the 3rd floor on the totally opposite side of the front desk. Another thing that bothered me was we can only go through the key card access to other doors in the hotel from 6am to 11pm. We'd get done shopping late or watch a movie and get back to the hotel after 11pm and we had to walk practically 1.5 miles to our room. I booked a king size bed, which we got, but the mattress was extremely hard, felt like we were sleeping on the box spring, we got 3 pillows that were extremely flat. I am 6 months pregnant and already achey and sore everywhere. When I got done shopping, I wanted to throw my feet up and relax, but our bed was horrible. Not at all satisfied with the hotel other than the location of the hotel near the 5th avenue mall.

“Long walk if u want to excercise”

This hotel has long hallways if u like to walk. People are satisfied with the pool too.
