“Great view”
We enjoyed our stay. Our view of the Anchorage skyline from our 10th floor room was great. Vintage Alaska wallpaper gave the room a nice touch. The New Sagaya's City Market is just a block away for great coffee and pastry (and groceries) and we could walk downtown from the hotel for dinner and shopping. Our only complaint: gurgling water in the radiator woke us in the night (even though the heat was not on).
“Satisfactory Hotel”
No problems with hotel. Located in a mostly residential area. Small supermarket next to hotel. About six to seven blocks to downtown. Good shuttle service to airport and downtown.
“Anchorage Visit”
This is an older hotel but is still quite efficient. It has a few "issues" but the price was very reasonable. There is a restaurant downstairs that has a great breakfast buffet, although it is NOT free. We did not have an opportunity to eat dinner there, and there is a bar. No pool or spa, but being in Alaska we did not expect one. Small but efficient bathroom. Did have a small fridge and microwave. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Hotel has a shuttle bus to various tourist intrests. We would stay there again if we ever go back to Alaska.
“Meh”
Hotel is well located and a great price. Definitely worth staying at if you're looking to spend a little less and don't mind a less fancy place. However... The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows need replacing and housekeeping was not so good. They didn't make our bed once in four days stay... I liked having a fridge in the room. Also, the shuttle is a great perk, but I think most Anchorage hotels provide one. All the staff we interacted with were friendly. Overall, a good bargain but nothing to shout about.
“Keep looking”
This is a very old hotel and it shows. The carpet in the hall looks like something from a flop house. All wrinkly and bumpy and I'm not sure what the color was. The room had a kitchenette in. The pillows were teeny tiny. Bathroom was hard to maneuver in. Smell from the restaurant was strong. Didn't feel very clean either. It is not within walking distance of downtown.
“Inlet Tower has gone downhill”
We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past, and have usually appreciated the lower rates compared with the great downtown location and fairly big rooms. This stay was our worst. While it was better than sleeping in our van in the WalMart parking lot, or staying in a run down roach-ridden motel, it was just disappointing overall. When we arrived for check-in, we had to wait at the desk for five minutes while wrestling two tired kids and baggage. The desk girl just wasn't interested in standing at the front desk. She was in the back and we had to holler a few times to get her attention. We asked for a crib at check-in, and ended up calling three more times from our room. After two hours, we had to go to bed, so we did without. We also had no towels, which weren't brought up until we called again in the morning. We all slept terrible because I had to share the bed with two kids, the one that usually uses the crib rolls and kicks and nearly kicked both me and the baby off the bed. One of my pillows had a yellow stain in the outside cover, and since I couldn't determine if it was old or new, I didn't use it. After finally getting back to sleep around 5:30 am, the bedside alarm blared loudly at 6:30 am as no one had bothered to reset it from the previous guest. It was just a crummy stay. The beds aren't very comfortable, it's an older hotel, and generally feels a little dingy in the rooms, but we can usually overlook that based on other merits, not this time.
“Good Overnite Stay!”
Nice place for a overnite stay between flights or tours. Hotel is outdated but the room was clean and quiet. Beds aren't comfortable but for the price you can stand the lumpy mattress for one night. Will stay again next trip to Anchorage.
“Expected a little better”
The Inlet Towers is located in a residential neighborhood approx 10 blocks from the Anchorage downtown shopping/dining district. The building is quite old, and although efforts have been made to update the facility, structural limitations leave much to be desired in terms of room layouts and amenities. Tub/shower had no railings/bars for safe entry/exit. Room had a window air conditioner and two hot water heating units. Despite being on the 10th floor, trafiic noise was very audible thru the windows and the venetian blinds had not been dusted recently. There was a large hanging closet, but no doors, which made the room appearance a bit tacky. Restaurant food was fine and service good but the dining room carpet was dirty and did not appear to have been vacuumed, even at breakfast hour. The breakfast buffet, however, was excellent and a good value. The staff was very responsive to requests. Questionable if deserving a 3-star rating.
“Nice place to stay.”
Nice place to stay while in Alaska. Very close to downtown and a nice view of the mountains. The staff were nice and very helpful. We had some problems getting towels and glasses. However, once it was brought to their attention things got better. We enjoyed our stay and if we return to Alaska we will more than likely stay there again.
“Good service, Good rooms”
Stayed one night in Inlet Towers. had great room overlooking the inlet. Everything was great with one exceptinon. The only air conditioning was a small size window unit and running it for 10 hours before retiring for the night still did not lower the temperature to a comfortable level. Other than that, my stay was great.
