Nice staff but hotel is old and smelly.

Posted Jul 31, 2014
The hallways and room smelled musty. There were stains on the carpet and the bathroom. I was glad I was only staying there one night. However, the shuttle was very convenient and the lady at the front desk was very friendly and inviting. Other staff members I encountered were courteous and helpful as well.

Good location

Pros: Quiet. Comfortable bedding.
Cons: Something other than paper cups in the room.
Location: Nice restaurants near-by. Easy walk to center of town.
Nice place. Easy walk to the downtown area for shopping, museums and dining.

Don't Stay Here

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Shuttle service
Cons: most of the front desk staff needs proper hospitality training
Location: many blocks away from things of interests
shuttle service was prompt, but most of the front desk staff were unfriendly and not helpful; restaurant served stale food products and often didn't have items listed on menu; housekeeping staff weren't thorough most days; would not stay again.

Didn't sleep one night. pillows are all of different sizes, yet there is only one size pillow case standard yet there are king to throw sized pillows - mattresses aren't much better. The mattresses were so uncomfortable and probably old that sleep was impossible. The air con was locked in at 73 and could not be changed. Location was good and price was decent that's about all i could say about it.

Great location just 10 mins from downtown

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Was a fantastic location with a 10 minute walk from 4th avenue (downtown). Across the road is a great supermarket which makes food easy. We didn't have to eat out all the time which saved us money. Also not too far from the tony knowles Coastal trail (not the start but you can join it to go to Kincaid). Overall a great stay! I'd definitely go back!!

Downtown anchorage

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: 10 minute walk from downtown
Cons: Lots to work on, main thing was lack of organisation over shuttle
Location: Spent 1 night here and ate at Glacier brewhouse which was great. Go to Kincaid park for super close views of urban Moose.
Room was really spacious but cold water in shower, missing remote for TV and coffee machine did not work. Chose this hotel as walking distance to downtown and had free airport shuttle. Location was great but shuttle was 30 minutes late in leaving for a 15 minute drive to the airport and the organisation was a shambles, 7 seater bus for 16 booked passengers. Also stayed at Puffin Inn on this trip which was not as handy a location for downtown but shuttle was excellent plus you get a free breakfast. Overall would not recommend Inlet.

Good location

Hotel was nice and within walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants. Rooms were well equipped and there's free wifi. The bathroom could do with updating but was functional and clean. I'd stay there again.

Very disapointing

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: only the view and the shuttle
dirty in the bathroom, uncomfortable bed, clogged toilet, no water pressure, light bathroom malfunctioning, elevator...

Nice view from the 12th floor but that's about it.

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The view.
Cons: Everything.
Location: There was a grocery store nearby.
The photos online are very deceiving. This place is old. The elevator moves about as slowly as is humanly possible. The decor is old, the bed was very uncomfortable and didn't even have a mattress cover sheet. Even with the air conditioning cranked and a window open to the cool night air the room was still too warm. Another traveler noted the same thing. By the feel of the climate in the hotel it sure seemed like the weather outside was similar and then you went outside and it was much cooler than you would have expected. The building is hot, that's all there is too it. After telling the cleaning staff who were almost to my room that I would be leaving in 30 minutes so they could clean the room then, and getting recognition of the request, I returned to my room late that evening and the room hadn't been touched. The absolutely ONLY plus point about this hotel was the view. The front counter folks were sweet but that doesn't make up for everything else. Shop around and stay someplace else!

do NOT stay here!

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: absolutely nothing
Cons: tear down the entire place and start from scratch
we booked a "deluxe" room here for 2 nights and left 2 hrs after getting there. it was the worst hotel i've been to. the room was stinky and the bathroom had used towels. the bedsheet had stains and the 2 pillows were not even the same. it was our last stop in alaska and we didn't want to ruin it so we left and paid for 2 nights at a nicer hotel! the staff didn't even seem to care when i checked out 2 hrs after getting there- i told her we didn't like the room and she just said "ok- you're all set"! do yourself a favor and do not stay here! this should be rated as a 1 star hotel.
