Basic Hotel accommodations.

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Cons: The only thing that really bothered me was the comfort of the bed. It was very firm.
Location: The location is a bit odd because of one way streets, but it is nice to be away from downtown, while still being close enough for a short drive.
The room was acceptable for a bare bones night stay.

Beautiful Views at a Great Price!

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: The staff were helpful and the views are amazing.
Cons: We wish they had more of a lobby area to hang out in. The elevators are a little slow but no big deal.
Location: It's hard to get a hotel in Anchorage that isn't close to what you need. We were definitely close to grocery stores and downtown. It was great.
I'm not sure why this hotel isn't ranking higher. I can only think it's because it's a little older, so everything is a little older. The elevators run a little slow, but do you want to pay twice as much for a fast elevator? The rate we got was fantastic AND we had a mini-kitchen to work with. We were able to make some of our meals to save even more money. The hotel staff was great, and we had the 15th floor facing the Inlet which was just an amazing view.

Older but OK

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Got to hotel at 11:30 at night, the clerk greeted us with a good attitude. When we got the room we were informed that he upgraded us to a King room. The room was small but OK, the bed needs to be replaced as the sides were shot from people sitting on the edges. For the price it was a good deal, I've paid more for a lot less.

Good business travel hotel

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Good location, clean, efficient room.
Cons: Parking is limited. It appears that alot of the lot is set up for long term renters.
Location: Good access to everything in Anchorage.
Clean, efficient room. Well suited for a single person traveling. Step into the tub was high, but towels were large enough and fluffy (always one of the things I look for). I would definitely stay again.

Decent hotel within walking distance to downtown.

They let us check in early which was great. The bathrooms need help- water pressure and temp of shower weak. The blow dryer had one setting which was low and so pretty useless. They could stand to update TV and provide movie options/channels. The restaurant was great and they gave us a certificate for appetizers which was nice. Great service. I would stay there again if they fixed the bathrooms up a bit.

Visiting Family

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: Easy access, friendly people, good food and a reasonable price. Also, really enjoyed the shampoo, lotion etc. It had a nice clean smell.
Cons: The room was quite warm, even after turning the heat off and opening the window which I didn't like to do since it wastes energy so I left it closed.
Location: I'm not sure because I didn't do anything nearby.
I landed in Anchorage at 1AM and was very tired after 3 long flights from Florida. I called the hotel and they picked me up at the airport within 15 minutes. I was able to check in early which was very nice after my long journey and the person working at the front desk was very friendly and professional. The beds were extremely comfortable and the view from the 14th floor was wonderful. I hate dinner in the pub downstairs. The staff were great and the food was good. My son stayed with me two nights so we wouldn't have to drive back to his room, but I had booked for two people anyway, so I wasn't charged for an additional person.

Hotel staff doesn't respect guests privacy!

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness and location.
Cons: "Do Not Disturb" signs should be honored by Hotel Employees. When a Hotel Employee makes a mistake then they should own up & rectify the situation.
Although the room was clean & we liked the location we will never stay at the Inlet again. The reason? The hotel staff doesn't respect their guests privacy. On the first 2 days of our stay we hung the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door & hotel employees walked right into our room on both days. On Day 1 housekeeping walked in 30 minutes after we put the sign on the door. On the second day we put the "DND" sign on our door & then left for a day of sightseeing. When we came back there was a space heater in the middle of our room (it hadn't been there before) & it was turned on. We called the front desk & they said they had no idea who had been in our room. We asked them to look into it & a while later we received a call from maintenance. The person laughingly said the heater in our room didn't work & that there had been an ongoing battle between maintenance & housekeeping. He laughed some more as he explained maintenance would put a space heater in the room & housekeeping would remove it. I told him that not only had we not requested a space heater but our privacy had been violated as we had hung the "DND" sign on our door for a reason: We didn't want ANYBODY in our room w/out our permission. Maintenance's "explanation" didn't make sense because our room was so hot we had to keep opening the window & if by chance the heater didn't work then the room shouldn't have be rented to us nor to anyone else. Bottom line: "Do Not Disturb" signs should be honored by hotel employees!

Disappointed

Posted Mar 26, 2014
Pros: Not very much. The only thing was the savings, but the room could've been better. I won't really reccommend the hotel to very many friends or family.
Cons: Warmer rooms, cleaner, and better pillows. The pillows were so small and flat, uncomfortable.
Location: Not very much.
The room was not was showen on your websit, it was small & cramped. To get to the toilet, you had to close the door, tiny restroom, very disapointing. The light fixture to the right of the bed closest to the door, was falling apart(?), the light bulb was attached, but it look like the base was coming off. There was a red stain on the carpet, some gross stain on the luggage rack and the heater. The room was cold, even when I turned the heater up all the way. Lastly, the elevator was smelly.
