Disappointing Stay

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Everything especially the attitude of staff and cleanliness of the rooms.
Location: N/A
When picked up at the airport, we were not greeted by the driver. The driver never smiled and was not friendly or helpful. When he was asked what road we needed to take to drive to Denali, all he said was North. When we arrived at the hotel, we waited 20 minutes before a person arrived at the front desk to assist us. When asked if our reservations would include adjoining rooms, we were informed that was not requested. The attendant was shown paperwork stating this was requested. She informed us this was not possible even though our reservations were made months ago. Our rooms were not real clean. The top comforter and sheets were wrinkled and looked worn. The bathroom had hair in the tub from previous guests. Even though this hotel was cheap, I would not ever recommend it.

Staff good, room not

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Our mini suite was disappointing. Room was dark, carpet worn out, and the room was well past time for rennovation. Coffee stains on the wall in the bathroom. We were scheduled to stay here on our return and have cancelled that reservation.

Nice motel close to the airport.

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Breakfast could be better for the price. More seats for breakfast.
Location: Close to the airport, easy to find.
Nice Motel for the first night after arrival or the last night before departure. Clean, friendly staff.

Problems with the hot water

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Convenience to the airport and free breakfast
Cons: Response to problems by maintenance staff. Smoke smell the entire time in room even though it was listed as non-smoking.
Location: Close to airport and roads to
We had trouble with access to hot water 2 of the 3 days we stayed, with none available at all during one day. This frankly is unacceptable when paying $150 a day for a room.

great staff

Pros: the staff was the greatest. very helpful. nice .
Cons: remold the rooms, being the bathrooms up to date.
Location: theres nothing near by.
everything was old. the couch in our room was so old and broke down. not nice to set on. and didn't. the walls in the halls are marked up and the carpet on the stairwells looked like they haven't been vacuumed in quite some time.

The hotel halls were very stinky, old smoking smell even though it was a non smoking floor. No shower curtain, cigarette burn marks in the bathroom. Coffee pot was left with old coffee and grounds. Two towels for our four, and no washcloths. Overall the hotel seemed dirty and over used - fraying, dirty carpet, fingerprints, etc. needs a major renovation. Beds were comfortable. The shuttle was super fast, employees were kind, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Ok if you're on a budget...

Hotels in Anchorage are expensive; anywhere else our 2Qn bed room would/should be under $75. It was spacious enough but the decor is outdated and the carpet was curling/rubbed bare in spots. There was a funky smell in the hallway, like it hadn't been aired out in a long while. The one "highlight" was the continental breakfast - a decent spread given the level of hotel and way above the Extended Stay downtown. All in all functional and acceptable, though not a place I'd want to stay in more than a night or two.

Good location, close to the airport. Free airport shuttle was provided. Staff was friendly, helpful and very courteous. I would definitely stay there on future trips to Anchorage, AK.

We often stay here.

Pros: I like that we can travel with our big dog, elderly dog and the consistency of each visit. No bad surprises and I can get on WiFi in my room.
Cons: We had to use the air conditioning this past visit, thought it was noisy but since I don't live with air conditioning, maybe air conditioning is noisy
Location: Hard to get into if coming from the west on International but once you get the hang of it, no problems.
It is a quiet area yet close to the airport. We have stayed here several times in the last couple of years. We can take our elderly dog with us and they are happy to give us a ground floor making it easier to walk our dog. The breakfast foods are fresh, coffee is hot and the cookies at night are tasty. Our beds have always been comfortable, showers hot. I have not heard others walking down the hallways or other guests taking showers as I have in many of the higher priced hotels. We have stayed in the middle of the week and weekends. The service is always good. I recommend this place as a nice, comfortable stay especially if you are traveling with a pet. There are trees, grass and sidewalks to walk your pet.
