We often stay here.

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: I like that we can travel with our big dog, elderly dog and the consistency of each visit. No bad surprises and I can get on WiFi in my room.
Cons: We had to use the air conditioning this past visit, thought it was noisy but since I don't live with air conditioning, maybe air conditioning is noisy
Location: Hard to get into if coming from the west on International but once you get the hang of it, no problems.
It is a quiet area yet close to the airport. We have stayed here several times in the last couple of years. We can take our elderly dog with us and they are happy to give us a ground floor making it easier to walk our dog. The breakfast foods are fresh, coffee is hot and the cookies at night are tasty. Our beds have always been comfortable, showers hot. I have not heard others walking down the hallways or other guests taking showers as I have in many of the higher priced hotels. We have stayed in the middle of the week and weekends. The service is always good. I recommend this place as a nice, comfortable stay especially if you are traveling with a pet. There are trees, grass and sidewalks to walk your pet.

Pros: Clean, good location, price
Cons: Better breakfast
Location: Park, airport, food and shops but not walking distance
Fit our needs to a "T". Like the room. Bath is the standard faire for budget hotel.

Nice hotel close to Airport

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: Spacious rooms, nice hot coffee, nice lobby, free wifi.
Wanted a place to stay for the night as we had a early flight to catch very spacious and nice hot coffee was always available. They also served hot cookies at 7pm and kids enjoyed them a lot nice of the hotel to provide such perks. Hadn't got a chance to have a the breakfast as we had a 6am flight and catch. Would recommend anyone on a budget as a excellent place to stay for an extended amount of time.

Nice hotel close to airport

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Excellent location for travelling to the airport and the staff was nice, helpful and courteous.
Cons: The fan in our room was loud and kind of grinding until it warmed up, then it functioned fine.
Location: We did not do much from this hotel except go to the airport.
It was a bit pricey but worth it when you factor in the ride to the hotel and the breakfast. Our shuttle bus driver was very nice and courteous despite the fact that it was 4:20 AM when we left the hotel! The staff, overall, were friendly and helpful. The rooms looked recently updated and were clean and comfortable. The fan was a bit loud but once we got used to it we slept just fine. I would stay here again for the ease of travel to the airport and the staff. We didn't get to try out the breakfast but I was impressed that the coffee was on when I got up at 4:00 AM.

Not comfortable

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Got a non-smoking room that wafted of cigarette smoke as soon as we opened door. No shower curtain until we called and got one at 10pm Thermostat or air did not work. It got progressively hotter as the night went on.

Pros: Convenient to the airport.
Cons: The bathroom was real dated and not clean.
Hotel was acceptable but not very clean. The breakfast area was small and the selection was limited.

Not good

Posted May 16, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Training on customer service
The staff wasn't helpful at all, when I asked for help all they told me was "I don't know". I wouldn't recommend Microtel to anyone especially if the staff cannot help the customer. Poor service

Nice hotel, private and charming

Posted May 15, 2014
My husband and our two toddlers loved this hotel. We originally were staying downtown, but we wanted to move to a more family friendly area of town. The front desk staff was so nice to let us check in early so the kids could get a nap and we didn't have to drive around town for hours until check in. They were very friendly and hospitable. The hotel was quiet, had a very private and comfortable feel to it. The room was very clean and very cozy. They allow pets, but the room didn't have any evidence of any pets having been in there. We will definitely be staying there again!

Pros: Overall value, location to airport and helpful staff.
Cons: Carpet replacement - but it is Alaska and snow, salt etc is problematic.
Location: Very near ANC and Spenard area of Anchorage.
Overall - good and a great value compared to other Anchorage hotels. Rooms ok for cleanliness and comfort, staff very helpful. Breakfast ok. Cookies in evening - a nice touch..
