THE ROOMS NEED UPDATED.

Posted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: THE BAR AND THE FACT THAT IT IS RIGHT NEXT TO LAKE HOOD.
Cons: UP DATE THE ROOMS!
WE WERE NOT GIVEN A LAKE VIEW ROOM LIKE WE WERE TOLD WE WOULD GET. THE FIRST FLOOR ROOM WAS STUFFY AND THE AIR CONDITIONER DID NOT WORK WELL. THEY MOVED US BUT STILL NO LAKE VIEW. THE THIRD NIGHT WE GOT THE LAKE VIEW ROOM BUT DID SAY WE WOULD BE LEAVING IF WE DIDN'T. THE ROOMS HAVE PEELING WALL PAPER, HOLES IN THE SHOWER, SPOTS ON THE CARPET AND JUST GENERALLY RUN DOWN.

Better than expected

Location: Travel to Alaska for unique feature of Nature.
I thought a blind match may not work well. But this case it works very good. They treat me just like a regular guest.

Perfect for Alaska/Anchorage

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: atmosphere
Cons: bathroom and toiletries - bathroom seemed a bit darker and in need of some TLC. Toiletries were only in the bathroom- need for sinks too.
Location: Great view of the lake, sea plane 'airport'. Neat old-town restaurant nearby. Convenient to airport and downtown.
Check in was smooth. The staff was helpful and helped us cancel a reservation after the time but not day deadline. The food and bar were great. We enjoyed watching the sea planes take off and land. The room wasn't picture perfect, but was clean and had no issues. The lobby was worth spending hours in, looking at the Alaskan wildlife. They also provided a place for us to store our fish we had caught. It was definitely a trip to remember and the staff helped make it a pleasant one.

Very Dissapointing!

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Cons: Everything!!! The owners really need to put some serious money to renovate this hotel.
Location: It's much better to stay downtown, there's a lot more to see and do downtown.
This hotel looks very nice on its website, but reality is very different. Because it showcases itself as being right at the lakeshore you would think that rooms have a nice view, however very few rooms actually have a lake view. My room actually looked at a huge wall. You have to be very lucky to get a lake view. The entire property looks and feels like it has not been remodeled in ages; it even gives a feeling like the rooms are dirty. The only nice thing about this hotel is the restaurant which is right by the lake.

False advertising..does not look like pictured

Happy that it was just for one night to catch the train out of anchorage. Hotel is very dated, and does not feel clean. There are stains all over the carpet. It's right next to the airport. I also think it should of been half the price that we paid for a room. I was shocked that this was the same hotel pictured on Expedia.

Millennium Hotel -- so/so

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: It was nice that the restaurant served breakfast late -- the wait staff was very nice and prompt. I like the location - close to the airport but quiet
Location: It's right on Lake Hood, so it's great to sit in the bar or on the patio and watch float planes come and go.
Ok, maybe I was a little grouchy after traveling all day on delayed flights, but I will say that I was a little disappointed with the Millennium Hotel. First some of the positives -- the shuttle bus driver was cheery, (but not too cheery) at 330am, the check-in procedure was painless and the room was pretty nice. But guys, it's 4 am -- why did you give me a room all the way on the other side of the hotel? Why can't you tell the housekeeping staff that my 4am arrival made it more than a little annoying when you knocked on my door at 8 am? Hello? Privacy sign was up...And I really didn't appreciate hearing multiple wake-up calls through the walls. (Turn the volume down on the phone ringers a bit?!?) The bed was nice and big but the sheets were stiff and a touch scratchy. The food in the restaurant was pretty good and I appreciated my coffee cup being filled with good coffee! I have eaten in the bar a few times in the past and I will say that the view and the food are excellent!

OK, But Not Wonderful

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Lake and float planes.
Cons: Matresses and cleaning.
Location: A shuttle took you in town but only dropped off at one location. Not much to do on location.
We stayed two days at the hotel. You could tell it was nice at one time but it is in need of updating. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have been in. It was sunken in and we just could not sleep well in it. The whole hotel needs a good cleaning. Even the animals displayed on the walls are full of dust. The location to the hotel was nice. The lake with the float planes was an asset but unless you were buying food or drinking there was no where to sit and watch the planes.
