“Winter Getaway”

My family and I enjoy staying there during our ski trips - the girls love the pool, and the restaurant serves their favorite chocolate chip pancakes. My husband and I enjoy the beautiful surroundings and accomodations.

“What an excellent hotel!”

This was my first trip to Alaska and I couldn't have asked for a better hotel for quality, ambiance, location, service and amenities. You can spend nearly an entire day just in and around the hotel, exploring hiking trails that are literally right out the back door, riding the tram to the mountaintop, paragliding back to the hotel, lounging around the large rock fireplace, and riding rental bikes along the crosscountry ski paths. The rooms are comfortable and clean with breathtaking views, and affordable rates. The gym is well equipped and the pool and spa are large and well maintained. The food in the restaurant was very good -- a little pricey at dinner but there's an excellent local restaurant just a short drive into what passes for the town of Girdwood (I recommend their 1/3 pound sirloin burgers). The hotel is also a short drive from a National Park, a wildlife preserve, several glaciers and countless hiking trails. This is truly an impressive place to stay and vacation. I'm looking forward to trying the hotel in the winter, as the Alyeska Hotel is actually a ski resort.

“Perfect getaway”

Absolutely wonderful getaway and beautiful hotel in everyway. Its hard to choose between the gorgeous hiking trails or their huge pool and hot tub and workout facilities. Rooms all had great views of the mountains, fabulous linens. You can't go wrong.

“Beautiful Hotel”

I booked this hotel after seeing pictures at Expedia and it reminded me of what I imagined a mountain retreat would look like. The Hotel Alyeska exceeded every expectation I had. It was beautiful and had every amenity you could imagine. Would go back in a heartbeat!!

“Peace and quiet in the trees”

This is a beautiful hotel nestled in the trees. There are great walking trails for those who wish to see nature up close. For meals, you have the choice of several restaurants on site or a couple more just a short distance from the hotel. This is a great place to stay! We will remember it fondly for years to come. So glad we were able to share it with our 14 yr old grandson.

“Very nice. Would stay again”

Clean, nice rooms. Starbucks in room coffee. Nice pool area with fantastic views. Nice relaxing stay. The only negative I found was there weren't enough accessible power outlets for lap top, camera recharge etc. I would stay here again.

“Facelift at Alyeska”

For anyone who hasn't heard, the Alyeska ski resort area is getting a facelift. The hotel has been transformed from the average ski getaway into a warm and comfortable resort. The old style was designed by a Japanese firm and it was a little modern and cold for Alaska. We would highly recommend staying here for a few weeks during the summer or the winter. Girdwood (alyeska) is the most beautiful place on earth (in my opinion) and I can't help but return each year either for a challenging ski lesson in the winter or the fairyland forest in the summer. The location is like no other and too many people pass by it...If you can afford to stay in the summit DO IT! Don't miss the relaxing salt water pool and deep hot tub, it is a truly amazing experience after a day of fun.
