A warm and cozy place

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Its a beautiful resort. Perfect inside when the weather is not so nice outside.
Cons: I would recommend not to move someone to a handicap accessible room unless they request it. I was looking forward to using the tub in my room.
Location: The hiking trailheads right from the tram are very beautiful. I hiked Winner trail which takes you to a fascinating hand tram.
This was a delightful fall stay. I can't wait to come back during different seasons.

Crying baby next door made sleep impossible.

Pros: Tram ride to the mountain top.
Cons: Map of facility.
Generally good. Conscientious staff. Room a bit crowded/tight but clean. Pool was crowded with a community swim class going on. Restaurant food was excellent.

From the time you walk through the entrance the atmosphere is upscale. View from our window was pine trees and snow capped mountains. Are at Aurora restaurant, good food & Rachel was efficient & knowledgeable of the area. Great stay!

Mountain charm, so close yet so far away

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Location: Close enough to Turnagain Arm to run off to see the bore tide and get back in time for a relaxing dinner on-site
Wonderful mountainous location just a couple of minutes off Seward Highway. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Getaway in the hills

Posted Sep 27, 2014
We had a great experience here. The hotel has a nice pool, hot tub and sauna. We got complimentary tickets for the tram which took us to the top of the hill with amazing view from there. The only downside was the 6.1 earthquake which woke us up in the morning. It was quite shaky especially being on the top floor. Definitely not a regular alarm but it worked.

Beautiful Alaska wilderness hotel

Posted Sep 20, 2014
The hotel is beautiful. I had stayed there several times. They gave us a free room upgrade and free tram tickets on check-in. Food is very expensive in the hotel. But we found a nice place to eat breakfast offsite that was reasonable. We had some trouble with the heat. But they took care of it. Also the hairdryer did not work. That was not rectified. Bed is very comfortable. The pool and hot tub are the best ever.

Honeymooners

There is an impressive amount of quality, care, and beauty the Hotel Aleyeska displays, and if you're planning to visit Anchorage, I whole heartedly recommend this hotel. The area is idyllic. The staff are courteous and friendly. The amenities abound. The hotel is 45 minutes east of Anchorage and is within 45 minutes of Whittier (day cruises, which I highly recommend), within 2 hours of Seward (I also recommend), and 3 hours of Homer (I didn't get a chance to visit). There are many hiking trails around the hotel. Inside, they have shops, restaurants, lounge areas with wifi, and a tram to the top of the mountain. It was an overall great experience.
