Inflexible

Posted Dec 17, 2014
The hotel itself was very nice, the food was good, and the people were friendly. I did have a problem with their unwillingness to waive the cancellation fee given the conditions. The ski resort decided to close due to poor conditions. I was only there to ski. With two days left, I asked if I could cancel my last night without a penalty, so I could go home. They would not allow this even though the hotel was no where near full. My cancellation would not have kept them from offering a room to a potential customer. Then, they closed some of their restaurants. In the end, they got an extra night from me, but it's unlikely that I'll return.

nice hotel in beautiful place!

A beautiful hotel that needs just a bit of an upgrade. Mattresses have need of replacing. Should have microwave, etc. Room safes are nice extra. Employees were great!

Beautiful setting

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Nothing at this time
Location: Late check in and early check out. Didn't get a chance to enjoy the area.
It was a short stay for us this time, but it was beautiful as always. Friendly staff and very nice room.

Not very helpful

Posted Nov 4, 2014
The staff is not very helpful and the hotel is not flexible at all with anything like changing reservation dates even when they can fill your room.

Good stay however...

Posted Nov 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
The stay was good, Upon checking out staff notified us that there was bad accident, road to Anchorage would be closed for a few house they offered to extend our check out by 30 minutes and wanted to charge us after that. I would not say this would been good customer service due to situation…

Beautiful in All Seasons

Posted Nov 1, 2014
Pros: The scenery, the shower, the pool and the whirlpool, great food and service.
Cons: I wish more places were open in October like the Tram, and the Restaurants - Japanese and Seven Glaciers.
Location: The location is perfect for scenery and quiet. We drove to Seward one day to the Sea Life Center. We also visited the Conservation Center.
We have visited Hotel Alyeska in June and in October. In June, it is green and the mountains stand tall with their snowy caps. A wonderful place to walk the trails and soak in the beautiful landscape and surroundings. There was a covering of snow when we arrived in October. The trees were frost coated. It snowed more while we were there. It was fun to swim in the saltwater pool and watch the snow covered trees and scenery outside. Our meals were delicious. We watched the mountain and Tram Network from our cozy room. The bathrooms were spacious and the shower was easy to use. I love visiting here.

Beautiful hotel.

Posted Oct 29, 2014
Our family of 5 just returned from a stay at the Hotel Alyeska. We had two ajoining rooms. It was beautiful (although my husband did think the hotel reminded him of the hotel in the Shining). Since it was off season there weren't many choices for dining, although the Aurora Bar and Grill was very good, so it wasn't that big of a deal that we had to eat there twice. We did get breakfast one morning at the Tramway Cafe, and I would not have eaten there again. The indoor pool and hot tub were very nice. The grounds and trails right outside the hotel were also very nice. I would definitely stay at this hotel if I ever traveled to Alaska again.
