"Great North Vancouver Location"
If you want to get away from the city, North Vancouver is great. We had a room with a view of the city and Harbor which was wonderful, especially at night. The hotel rooms are comfortable, clean and very contemporary. It is close to the tram, waterbus, restaurants, shopping and the suspension bridge park. The hotel restaurant has great food too.

"Good hotel, strange rules, hot water problems"
The hotel is a good place to stay. It does have hot water problems during busy times, and has poor showerheads (or maybe just poor pressure in mediocre showerheads). It has a lot of strange rules, posted all over the place. Vending is expensive. Rates are a little high. Staff was friendly and helpful. Poor wireless in rooms.

"Great view of planes taking off on the lake."
We arrived very late due to missed plane connections. After traveling for nearly 24 hours it was good to come into contact with the young man at the front desk. He was cheerful and professional in greeting two very tired travelers.

"Good location"
The hotel is located within the downtown area making it easy to walk around to some of the main areas. The People Mover bus system is inexpensive so one can explore the other areas of Anchorage as well. Good restaurants, but a lot of tourists so they can get crowded doing meal time.

"Excellent location for catching the train"
This was a very short stay as we caught a very early train in the morning and chose the hotel due to its proximity to the station. It was walking distance but the hotel had a shuttle on hand to help with bags.(they also had a free shuttle from the airport). Room was clean and comfortable and appeared to have been recently refurbished. There is a creek running behind the hotel and people salmon fishing there added to the Alaskan "flavor". No restaurant in the hotel, though a nice breakfast is included in the room rate. There are some good places to eat close by. The trains blow their whistles as they pass through the station at night which is a little bit noisy but only happened a couple of times. Free wifi.

"Old but room was well maintained. "

"Nice room. BIG bed."
It was a nice room. Me and my friend had enough space to move. The king bed was big which was very nice! We also had a small kitchen in our rom which was very good because we were able to prepare our own food. The room was clean, some spots at the walls though. But the rooms were renovated and they looked very modern! With bus no. 2 it is 15 minutes to get into Downtown Anchorage. Very nice! Buses have their own schedule, were very late sometimes. I would definitely recommend this hotel because it was a nice room. There was missing a dresser, we had to leave our clothes in our luggage, which was fine with us, though. The hotel has a bus shuttle. We weren't able to use it because we weren't able to call the shuttle because the phone number didn't really worked so we weren't able to reach the front desk. At our way back home the shuttle was not available. The shuttle is only available from 8 am- 8 pm.

    Where to stay in Anchorage

    Your Guide to Anchorage Hotels

Those seeking Anchorage vacations will find many convenient flights to Anchorage from airports all over the world. Alaska is an amazing place to visit and there is no shortage of things to do and see. However, those looking for cheap hotel deals in Anchorage, AK are advised to consider traveling during the spring or fall when prices are down in Anchorage hotels as well as in many Alaskan resorts in other parts of the state. Because of the seasonal nature of Alaskan tourism, cheap deals can be tough to find during the summer and winter months, and the best hotels in Anchorage are often booked solid for months on end.

Travelers who want to stay in a downtown hotel will find a variety of top-quality Anchorage, Alaska hotels to choose from. The city's best restaurants are located in the downtown area, and visitors who book a stay at a downtown Anchorage hotel can find everything they need within walking distance. However, most tourists want to see something of Alaska besides the downtown district, and can easily do so by taking advantage of car rentals in the area.

There are many pet friendly hotels located within the city limits of Anchorage, and Anchorage has an abundance of dog parks scattered throughout the city. Those opting for a stay at a downtown hotel will have easy access to the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, which is known as one of the most beautiful trails in the nation. Even those visiting Anchorage without dogs to exercise will enjoy proximity to this gorgeous natural wonder. Mt. McKinley looms above the city on clear days, and the raw energy of the wilderness can be felt even in the downtown area of Anchorage.

Travelers who are looking for historic hotels won't find traditional east-coast style Victorian architecture in Anchorage. What they'll find instead is the Alaskan version of historic hotels -- large log structures with loads of rustic charm. This type of place is more likely to be found, however, at remote resorts and fishing lodges than among standard Anchorage hotels.

Business travelers will find several good airport hotels near Ted Stevens International Airport.
