"While our stay got off to a rocky start, the staff were very helpful in sorting out some broken appliances. The room was very clean and comfortable. The halls had a lot of visible dust at the carpet edges but otherwise common spaces were also clean. "

"We stayed two nights during the 2024 New Years Arrived around noon and was checked in right away. The price was reasonable for the holiday season. Location is near the train station, the river and walking distance to attractions. Considering it is an older hotel it shows some wear but the price compensates for it. Breakfast and Dinner Buffet was good and convenient. We used the pool and almost had it to ourselves.It's plenty big to lap swim. Plenty of free bottled water also they brought some fruit to the room with no charge. We had a good veiw of the river and city from our room. Only complaint was the room was a bit to warm, better than to cold. Having visited China over the past ten years I have stayed in quite a few hotels and realize Chinese hotels are not the same as the ones in the US this one comes close to a western hotel. Only disppointment was with Tianjin it self. It's more crowded, the population has increased by 3 million people since my first visit and seemed dirtier than I remember. I would recommend a stay here, but some you can never please. "

"The hotel itself is OK. What spoiled the impression is the lack of professionalism of the reception staff. In the hotel there are the people speaking good English, but they were absent when we checked-in and out. As a result it took 30 minutes to be checked-in and 40 minutes to be checked-out. But the worst thing was that the girl at the reception (don't remember her name, it was the evening of January, 25, 2024) refused to give us the reporting documentation. She had to do it when we demanded the manager speaking good English or the director to come out. With the help of the manager we got the documents we needed. And then, to take revenge, when we went by taxi to the airport to fly home, she (the receptionist) called the police, gave them our taxi details and we were stopped on the way by the police, who took us to the police station and checked our passports, visas, air tickets and what not. At last they let us go. We were lucky to catch our flight. But due to this accident this final stop at this hotel and 'the communication" with the policemen before flying home became a great disapointment of China for us..."

"Excellent customer service! Breakfast was included in the booking which was a pleasant surprise. They had a whole range of facilities such as laundry (¥40 for the washer and dryer), fitness centre (fully equipped with the latest treadmills, interactive Peloton tracker, weights area and strength and conditioning section), excellent intercontinental buffet breakfast and extremely clean rooms. The only issue was that none of the staff spoke English. I would have expected at least this for an international chain of hotel. Instead they were using translators. "

"Everything is good except the WIFI strength is horrible. Even have difficulty obtain the necessary connection to access email. Luckily I am on golfing trip to Tianjin. If you are on business trip and require wifi access to conduct business, then you better think twice to check in to this hotel. I have to consume almost close to US40 of my own data plan to communicate although I am on leisure trip to Tianjin. "

"Breakfast variety and quality are too low, worse than other hotels with the same star level. Access to swimming pool is not convenient. Once in the gym, you may not be able to return to the lift with your room card. Funny design."
