Business As Usual

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: Friendliness for the price. Very good breakfast selection.
Cons: Firmer mattresses. Check ph and chlorine in pool; a little harsh on the eyes/ skin.
Location: They are in a very good location on US 76 close to several retailers and franchise foods.
They definitely wanted to see my return. My non smoking room didn't smell of a recent smoker! Very clean linens and room. Please be more conscientious of persons with pets when booking the room(s) mine was next to one with more than one dog- woof* Room with a view of the pool-very nice. he bed was very soft; not recommended for persons with back issues.

Good Value. Not Really Close to Clemson Univ.

Posted Jul 10, 2015
Pros: Good value. Convenient location in-between downtown Anderson and Interstate.
Cons: Addition of microwave and mini-fridge would be helpful and worth extra expense.
Location: Centrally located next to shopping, restaurants and nightlife in northern city business area. Reasonable driving distance to/from downtown Anderson.
Stayed two nights to visit relatives. Go to Jockey Lot on weekends for pretty good flea market and bazaar experience.

Stay at Howard Johnson Anderson South Carolina

Posted May 10, 2015
Pros: It was within our budget and close to where we wanted to be. We could have used a TV guide and a telephone directory
Cons: A small refrigerator in the rooms would really be nice. Also need directions in the room as to the location of the ice machine and where the pool was
Location: Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. We were going to Clemson University and the location suited us
The location was good because we were going to the Clemson graduation. Easy access, good breakfast, clean room and helpful personnel

Good place to stay for the price

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Cons: The hotel is in need of updating
This Howard Johnson had previously been a quality in. The hotel is in need of updating but overall is in relatively good condition. Good place to stay for business travelers on a budget.

Rundown dump

Posted Mar 15, 2015 on Hotels
This was not a very nice hotel. The condition of the hotel is very much in need of repair. For a one night stay it might be fine, but I would not recommend staying here for a few nights. There were rough looking people staying at the hotel and it did not feel really safe. There are no eggs in the Continental Breakfast. I would spend a little more and find something nicer next time.

We reserved a non smoking room. The only m left had an awful smoke smell. Grounds were dirty and unkept.

Nice part of town

Posted Jan 29, 2015
The room was suitable at best. The heat made a continuous rattle. The bathroom sink leaked and the water pressure was poor. But the for the price it worked for what we needed it for.

Not a good experience

Posted Nov 1, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything.
All around not a good experience. The price was way too high for what little this hotel delivered. First, we were never told the hotel had changed from a LaQuinta to Howard Johnson. The room was musty. Everything about the room looked old and unkept. The heating unit was so old that the writing for each of the settings was worn off. The shower looked nasty and my wife wouldn't step foot in it. The topper was the club across the street booming the heavy bass well into the early morning hours. Even with the fan on and a pillow over my head, I could still hear it.

LaQuinta no more!

It was a little tough to find, as this property is no longer a LaQuinta, now it's a Howard Johnson's
