Nice hotel close to the lake

Posted Nov 27, 2014
Our experience was wonderful. The hotel was clean & also very beautiful. I will say that the reason I didn't rate it perfectly is because, as silly as it sounds, our door was SO DIFFICULT to open. The latch would get stuck and we thought we would have to get the hotel staff to help us each time we used the key. Also, when we went downstairs to the café to get coffee, we weren't greeted. We just stood there confused while the girl behind the café counter went about her business. So we left and found coffee elsewhere in the village. But it was a beautiful hotel and the front desk ladies were very sweet and helpful.

Bargain - beautiful area

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: rates, large rooms, location
Cons: maid service is adequate but not detailed - just make bed with same sheets unless changes is requested and new towels if you wished replacements -
Location: Music from Angel Fire, hiking, visit Taos, and small towns in mountains
Music from Angel Fire in August is the best thing and the beautiful mountains and sunsets

Vietnam Veteran Memorial

Posted Sep 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is the second year I've stayed at the Resort. Will do so again. Wasn't very impressed with the quality of food at Legends inside the Resort. As busy as the Resort was, it was the only restaurant open; there is a second one, but it is only open during the winter months. The little convenience store, Annie's is terrific.

The restaurant was good at least...

The lobby of the hotel was very nice so we were excited to see our room. Unfortunately the lobby was not exactly an indication of the condition of our room. The carpet was filthy and the bathroom was in need of some serious repair. The toilet refused to flush, however, maintenance was fairly quick to come up and take a look. While the beds were comfortable, for the most part, the noisy college style refrigerator kept us awake for most of the night. Apparently the "A" side of the hotel has undergone renovations, unfortunately we stayed on the "B" side. On the bright side, the hotel staff and surrounding amenities were first rate. Dinner at Legends Bar was delicious and the staff from check in to check out were extremely friendly. I would definitely give it another shot, but would ask for an updated room.

Great Location with very friendly staff

Posted Aug 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our stay and liked the location which should be ideal during the ski season. The room was spacious and very comfortable, but dark since it faced the inside. While everything was clean and in working order, the hotel is in need of renovation especially the carpets. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We tried the restaurant and coffee shop and both had excellent food at reasonable prices. When we come back to the area we will definitely stay there again.

Really! No AC in the rooms?!?

Posted Aug 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
Ok I think this is the first time that I have ever! EVER been in a hotel where they don't have AC or any temperature controls in a room! Who does that! We walked into the rooms and they were 90 degrees and had 20 dollar walmart fans trying to blow in the hot air that was less hot than outside. Who has a 4pm check in as well. I WILL NEVER STAY here again. We had to get a change in rooms, and they way the pool and hot tubs are the halls smell like pool... How NOT awesome is that. BTW the rooms do to!

Very pretty location. Could have used air conditioning in the reception room though. Service was very good and all were helpful.

Overcharged!

Posted Aug 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
While at the hotel we noticed we had been double charged. Lady at front desk was extremely rude and unhelpful. We were there for a wedding and several other guests were overcharged as well. They wanted to give us a credit to use at the resort rather than a refund. Rooms were nice, one thing that would of been nice to know before hand. Indoor rooms have air conditioning, outside rooms DO NOT.

Very nice hotel, people were very hospitable, parking was very limited and there is no A/C it was a little warm but not too bad, there was a fan in the room and had the windows open to let in a breeze.

Excellent Hotel in need of upgrading

Posted Aug 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
The staff was excellent, and everything about the amenities were good, however, the rooms need an overhaul as they are older. The A/C and Refrigerator in the room was so loud that we had to turn them off to sleep. The real GEM at this resort is the Elements Restaurant, first class!!
