“Arawak is wonderful”

Fantastic place to stay in Anguilla- Maude's food is excellent, and Maria was welcoming and friendly. Overall, a wonderful experience we would recommend to all.

“Like Home”

I said, like home, hotel very quiet and informal, perfect for vacations.

“Fantastic stay”

This hotel is not on the beach, so don't expect to walk out of your room onto the sands of Shoal Bay. It does, however, provide stunning views of Island Harbour and because it's off the beaten track, it's very restful and quiet. There's an excellent French bakery (Le Bon Pain), withing walking distance. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is great.

“Good spot for the adventurous”

The Arawak is not for everyone. If you are looking for a high-end self-contained resort establishment this is definitely NOT it. However, if you enjoy a funky, friendly Inn-like atmosphere and can look beyond the fact that this place needs some TLC, it is a good place to stay. This place is a little off the beaten path and best treated as a "base camp" - so you should rent a car in order to get to the beaches & restaurants. The up-charge for the upstairs, deluxe rooms is definitely worth it. The Arawak has some rooms with kitchenettes and offers a deep discount for month + stays. The food in the Arawak restaurant is very good.

“Trip to Anguilla”

My experience was wonderful. But I had to work all the days and my permanense in the hotel was only a few hours.

“Bad Time in Anguilla”

We arrived - to find a pleasing pool. The pics on the internet are misleading - there is NO beach ! Our room was on the 2nd floor - and the unit below was being renovated ALL DAY and into the night - we had to complain twice to get it to stop finally at 9pm. The food was bad - they had a seafood stirfry one night - the seafood was microwaved ! NASTY. and the prices are very high. I would have expected some sort of concesssion by the manager for the noise we had to endure - but none was given.

“Awful”

The room was dirty ...pool seemed to be an above ground connected to house..rocky beach..but the safety was the major problem. The security guard showed a phone to pick up and it dials him direct but it's about a ten minute walk from your room and he's at his house wherever that is. He said since he's hired it's much safer. But he leaves at 830pm. I couldn't sleep I just had such an awful gut feeling..very scary there to me. I met another person at shoals bay who stayed there years ago and other guests actually cried seeing the place. The locals laugh when you say your staying there but no one speaks up...I'm American and this would be similar to a hostel..at best..beware!! I think these other reviews are made up people.

“go to eat but not to stay”

this hotel's food was awesome, however there was mold everywhere and I had asthma the whole time. I realized maybe I should check the bed and pillows and sure enough they had mold. The gardener started loud yardwork at 7am and then yelled at us for saying something to him. THe second time we told the owner and he said oh he should start work at 8am! So if you want to be woken up to yardwork early every morning on your vacation this is the place for you. The room was super hot and only a ceiling fan provided. The shower water pressure was nonexistent. Again the food was awesome try the pizza.
