perfect for experiencing the ReformationPosted Nov 10, 2013
Pros: breakfast. location.
Location: Wittenberg is all within walking distance--just a few minutes to the Luther House museum, the Melanchthon house museum, the churches, etc.
I visited during Reformation Fest (October 31) and the town was hopping--it's like a RenFaire meets street fest--in the midst of a medieval town. booths of all kinds, from food to wine to indulgences to handmade jewelry; roving bands of renaissance musicians; churches hosting Luther hymn sings; a Confirmation Class parade. If you go during this time, be prepared for crowds. The rest of the year apparently it's a bit of a sleepy town. The Luther Hotel is in the midst of the town's attractions. The hotel restaurant was full every night, but still serves no food, not even snacks, after 9pm. They do, however, have servers that take drink orders even out in the lobby's comfy couches. Location was perfect--easy walking distance to everything. It may even be possible to walk to the train station, though I didn't have time or energy to figure that out. Be sure you are clear with a taxi driver when you arrive that you want the Luther HOTEL, not the Luther HOUSE. I thought I clarified, but I ended up dropped off a five minute walk away, after everything was closed and dark and I had luggage. Not the end of the world, but a tad frustrating. The wi-fi doesn't really work in all the rooms (or at least it didn't in my room), and even when I hung out in the lobby to use it, it was incredibly slow. don't plan to upload photos from this stop on your vacation tour. Breakfast is amazing!

Very boutique-like hotelPosted Sep 24, 2012
Pros: Nice, clean and truly non-smoking rooms. Very helpful staff. Nice free full breakfast.
Cons: It would be nice to have the checkout time at 11 instead of 10.
Location: Good, central location.
We enjoyed our stay very much and will stay here again when we visit next year.

Not disappointed!Posted Aug 15, 2012
We stayed 2 nights here on the basis of an Internet recommendation. We were not at all disappointed. The location is excellent, away from the hustle and bustle of "downtown" Wittenberg. The provided breakfast was extensive and delicious. We would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Wittenberg. The only downsides are that this and all hotels in Wittenberg are not in easy walking distance from the bahnhof, the WIFI reception is confined to the lobby and no air conditioning (but fans were available upon request)

Excellent hotel convenient to all major sightsPosted Jun 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
Excellent value. Very convenient to all Luther heritage sites. A little tricky to find. Pay garage. Some street noise from rowdy people below window.

A nice hotel very close to the old town in Wittenberg. Walking distance to all the major sites. We had the breakfast buffet which was included in cost of room, nice that some still offer this! Room was clean and quiet. Helpful staff.

Great place to stayPosted Jul 20, 2011 on Hotels.com
I have stayed at this hotel for both of my trips to Wittenberg and on both occasions it was a quaint and friendly place with helpful staff, comfortable rooms and a delicious breakfast. I love it and would recommend it for anyone especially those coming to see the Luther sights.

Great place to stay in LutherstadPosted May 1, 2011
I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are excellent and did a great job helping us in English. They were able to help us with anything we asked. The hotel is clean and the breakfast is great! The shower is hot and very nice. The hotel is close to the train station, Castle Church, Town Church, and the Lutherhouse Museum. There is also a post bank (post office/DHL station) close by so you can mail the gifts home.
