“Great location for the Michigan game.”
A great place to stay if you are going to the U of M games. Very friendly and helpful personnel. Good food.
“Great value”
Our initial room had an issue with the heating unit, however management quickly upgraded our reservation and put us in a different room. They were very polite, understanding and concerned that our stay was a pleasant one. Great customer service. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
“Barely ok”
We spent two separate nights at this hotel. The first night, the room smelled of stale smoke and the AC didn't work. We had to get the maintenance guy to come fix it; he did something to make it go, but the room was definitely still warm - in 90+ weather. Also, there were ants crawling around on the bathroom floor. The second night we stayed, the AC unit worked, but rattled so loudly, it was hard to sleep. More stale smoke smell, and one of the lights had no bulb in it. Why did we go back the second night? Because we had made the reservations on the Internet and prepaid, so we were stuck. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet is better than the rest would lead you to expect, and the guy who runs it is very helpful and attentive. If you're just looking for a bed overnight and aren't planning to spend any time in the room, then this would be an almost-ok choice.
“Will not return”
Hotel was worse than I was expected. Noisy, dirty, chlorine smell in the lobby, no parking spaces (needed to park on a hill on the ground), shower not draining, in desperate need of renovation. Breakfast buffet was better than expected
“Never return”
Check in personel lied and did not provide the discount he said they would. At check out the same thing happened. contacted management and still no resolution. In addition, the room was unclear, with mildew all through the bathroom. If this is the way Clarion run it's operation - I'll never stay at ANY Clarions
“A wonder of architecture (1960s?)”
Many rooms in this hotel face a huge atrium (no daylight in the room). Hotel guests gather (and generate noise) in the atrium until the wee hours. In addition, right in the middle of the atrium there is a swimming pool -- the smell of chlorine is unbearable. Otherwise my stay was OK -- courteous staff, decent breakfast.
“This facility is in need of a major renovation. It is very dated.”
Two light bulbs were burned out. The wall paper in the bathroom was coming off the walls. The pool/spa is indoors, so the whole facility smells of chlorine. There are no windows to the outside, giving the feeling of being in a cave. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again if it were free.
