Avoid this hotel!

Posted Aug 25, 2014
The only redeeming quality for this hotel is that its close to Univ. of Michigan. Plumbing is terrible (low water pressure, luke warm hot water, poor drainage in sink), air conditioner so loud you can't sleep, room stank with smell of stale smoke, could never access internet over 4 day stay, and morning staff was kind of surly. After first night, mentioned to desk clerk that pillows were kind of flat. Surly response was "well I can't fluff them up for you but I'll get you additional pillows". I understand this is kind of a budget hotel but surely they can do better! Btw, other staff were very accommodating.

Good value

Location: We had breakfast at Bell's diner about 5-10 min from the motel which was excellent and very reasonably priced.
This is a nice simple place to stay which we did for one night. It's not fancy but it was clean and functional. Good location about 5 min to Michigan stadium and 10 min to downtown Ann Arbor. If you need upscale bathroom fixtures and a modern look this place is not for you.

Best deal in Ann Arbor!

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff above all! Quiet in corner room. Close to University and highway. Early breakfast time. Clean and comfortable room.
Cons: The rug could be cleaner. May I suggest oranges, nuts, and real wheat (not cracked) bread? Possibly a washing machine. Bigger reading lamp for working
Location: Very convenient location. Whole Foods Store, Trader Joe, and Barnes & Noble. Shopping malls.
I love this motel! I always stay here during my visits to the University. My room in the corner was quiet, if my neighbors were not. Sheets changed daily and bathroom immaculate. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Obliged my late request for a room away from street. Room clean with frig. Lamp Post Inn is simply excellent in every way!

paid a lot for poor night's sleep

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: good location
Cons: pretty much the entire room interior. Or give a true budget price.
Location: close to campus and a bus stop.
The room was pretty run down. The air-con was loud and obnoxious, the verticle blinds had some broken louvers just propped against the window, the beds were terrible and worst of all there was no hair dryer... I had to pick it up and deliver it to front desk for each use.

Hotel is very run down and many things are broken.

Everything in this hotel is broken. The staff, while nice stopped working at 11, leaving keys in the open for anyone to take.

Bad, just bad

Posted Jul 28, 2014
The only thing this place has goin for it is that the staff is very friendly. My wife and I travel a lot so we have been to a lot of places and haven't been too picky but we wouldn't stay here again, room was terribly dirty, didn't look like anyone had vacuumed, I felt gross even after I showered. Bed was uncomfortable, sheets were so thin you could see through them and mattress stained yellow. Gross.

Good location, friendly, great value for the area.

Perfect for a one night stay. Hotel rooms are under the process of renovation which may offer a big improvement. Although the hotel does offer very good value for money compared to others in the area.

Air conditioning in my room was almost nonexistent on a hot day. Shabby furnishings. Won't stay there again. Desk person didn't seem too concerned about the AC. Very musty smell in room.
