Good location, needs updating!

Posted Apr 19, 2015
I regret not reading the reviews more carefully before I picked this hotel. The Annapolis Inn was more old, than historic and the rooms were small, drapes a bit dusty, otherwise the room was clean and good repair, though I think it's time for a redo. Not the type of room where you would want to spend much time, but it was comfortable. If you are looking for a no frills hotel with a good location, this may be for you.

Historic hotels in downtown Annapolis

Posted Apr 5, 2015
Location: Visit the Naval Academe, Maryland capital building, and the city dock.
It is a decent historic hotel in downtown Annapolis. Since it is a historic hotel, the room is a little small, and the furniture is a little old. However, it is clean and comfortable. There are free overnight street parking everywhere in Annapolis until 10am. The hotel is within walking distance to the naval academy, the city dock, and the Maryland capital building. A convenient location.

Very Charming Inn. Centrally located. Within walking distance of most of the city. Would definitely go back.

Angled floors

Posted Mar 31, 2015
We stayed in the Maryland Inn and it's proximity to great shops and restaurants was unbeatable. However, room 301 has angled floors throughout, meaning you'll likely stumale moVing around on any number of the sudden dips.

Dear S’Neta: Thank you for your feedback about your recent stay. I was delighted to read that you very much enjoyed our location. I am sorry that your room had an angled floor; it sounds like that might have been a room in the Maryland Inn. Some of the rooms in that building do, in fact, have floors that slope due in part to the historic nature that building. We appreciate your patronage and look forward to welcoming you back again soon; perhaps the next time you can try the Governor Calvert House; that building has all “flat floors.” Thank you. Within walking distance to everything!

Great choice to be close to everything. We were booked in the Johnson house so there was no hotel staff around. If you needed something you would have to call or go to the other location. This wasn't an issue for us because we are pretty low maintence but might be for others.

Dear Bill: Thank you for posting your feedback. I was delighted to read our location worked so well for you. As you noted, we do, in fact, have three separate buildings with a central front desk located in the Governor Calvert House. I was pleased to read that you were not in need of any additional assistance while staying with us but am confident that should you have needed something we would have responded appropriately. We appreciate your patronage and look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Thank you. Mike Radike General Manager

Pretty small rooms, but good for a weekend getaway. Close to everything from West Street to the Academy and the bars and restaurants on main street.

Pros: Street entrance. Right in the heart of the city. Walked everywhere.
Cons: A thermostat that works??? Truth in advertising
Location: Lots to do. In the center of a historic town. Shops and sites within walking didtance
Room was cold and damp. Only source od heat was a space heater. I booked a room with a view of the State House. All we could see was the dome!!!! I did not book the most expensive room but not the cheapest either. Loved staying in a historical house. Staff was very pleasant

Dear Billie: Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that we were unable to accommodate your request for a view. Our three separate buildings are in a small, tightly concentrated urban environment and so there are limited options. We do our best to accommodate each request and will continue to do so. I am sorry we did not do a better job in your case. I was pleased to see that you found our team to be pleasant and we hope to welcome you back again soon. Thank you. Mike Radike General Manager

Front desk clerk in the wrong business

Posted Mar 18, 2015
Pros: Location and valet
Cons: Fire the front desk staff member
Location: Great walk ability to waterfront, restaurants, shopping, Naval Academy and quaintness that Annapolis is.
Everything that we anticipated for our visit came true with 2 small exceptions. Be aware the with an old building often comes with a small bathroom despite the effort to make it comfortable. The only real complaint was the gruffness and attitude of the front desk staff member when we checked in; poor explanation of the process of where the room actually was located, no welcome, no thank you, no real impression to please the guest. This initial experience was quickly improved by the valet driver who sincerely welcomed us and ensured that our stay got off on the right foot. The $20 overnight valet cost was worth every penny due to convenience and welcoming attitude.

Dear Sparks: Thank you for posting your comments. Please accept my apologies for the quality of service you encountered from our front desk agent. I have copied your feedback with our Front Office Manager and we will follow up on this experience; this is not the norm we normally provide and I am very sorry this happened. I was more pleased to read that other areas of the hotel went better and that your valet experience was so positive. We appreciate your patronage and look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Good and Bad

Posted Mar 17, 2015
I loved the charm of the hotel and the staff was professional. Unfortunately, it operated like a historic hotel. There was no internet for our visit, nor were we able to watch TV because the picture was so digitized. The heat/cooling system was incredibly loud and not very effective.

Dear From: Thank you for posting your feedback. We recently encountered issues with our internet connectivity due to external issues associated with various providers, events beyond our control but absolutely recognize that this was an issue for our guests and do apologize. I will share your feedback about the HVAC unit with our Chief Engineer and remind him about the need to consistently monitor the operation of these units. I do not understand the comment about our television but do hope you got out and enjoyed our great City while you were us. We value your feedback and hope you may consider us for a future stay.
