“Nice for a honeymoon, but nothing else”
Who will like this hotel: honeymooners, nature lovers, physically fit couples, people wishing for a truly local/non-commercial experience. Who will not like this hotel: parents with young children, people who want to just relax in comfort (getting around is a hassle....no matter if you're going to breakfast, the beach, or an excursion), people who are hooked on television, anyone with a disability or not in good physical shape. This hotel has the best view and snorkeling in all of St. Lucia. The front desk staff is stellar, as are the cleaning crew. The beds are extremely hard, and the walk to and from the beach was annoying. The food was just ok, and the waitresses were slow and forgetful/uninterested. The transportTion arrangements left us stranded two days in a row. The guys on the beach are a delight, and I recommend spending some cash with them on your first day. You will get lots of attention and advice for the rest of your trip. Some people will love it here, and some will hate it. It really just depends on what you are looking to get out of your trip. We are glad we chose this place for our honeymoon, but probably won't return.
“A Great Getaway”
If you're looking for something slightly off the beaten path and like the option of package deals vs. a la carte, Ti Kaye is your resort. My wife and I honeymooned at Ti Kaye and loved it. We went with the a la carte option, with both food and excursions, and had a great time. The food was excellent: American favorites mixed in with Caribbean and Creole dishes. As far as activities/excursions, the snorkeling at Anse Cochon (166 steps from Ti Kaye's main building) was great, the Canopy Zip-lining amazing, and the Gros Piton hike rigorous, but worth it. On our last day we got massages that were a great way top off the trip. Generally, facilities were very clean, the staff incredibly nice and helpful (albeit a little slow at times), and the grounds well kept. We had a great time and think that there may be a landmark anniversary trip back in our future. Misc. Worth Noting: To get anywhere on St. Lucia you need to take windy, up and down roads. People who easily get motion sickness should be prepared. Ti Kaye goes as far as providing a single 110 V, US 3-prong outlet in each room.
“Great Staff”
Unfortunately Delta Airlines failed us with our baggage but fortunately the mgt team and staff at Ti Kaye Village went far beyond our expectations to help lessen the problems caused by Delta, by providing us with clothes and whatever else was necessary. We have never stayed at a resort or hotel where the entire staff knew our first names and was always so friendly throuhgout our stay. As we associated with the other guests, they also had similar comments about the friendliness of the staff. They were also very willing to work with us on special dining requests for special occassions. We were asked in a survey by the resort if we wanted to name a staff member who should be given special recognition, and while we did name one person, we could have listed ten or twelve more names. We were warned in reviews prior to booking our trip that if you wanted to stay at a resort that was convenient to other restaurants and night life activity, Ti Kaye was not the place to go. They were correct in their reviews. You could take a special excursion or take a taxi/water taxi if you desired to travel to other areas of the island. Renting a car is probably not advised due to the road condiions. At the resort we especaily enjoyed the wine tasting and the Manager's Reception. The only negative that we found at Ti Kaye was that we found the food to be only average and not great. We understood that they had recently hired a new Executive Chef, so that could be improved.
“Absolutely LOVED this place!!”
We spent 4 nights here over July 4th weekend and had such an amazing time! This hotel was more than we had hoped for!! Awesome room, awesome views, great food, great beach, and everyone was SO nice & friendly! We enjoyed kayaking, snorkeling, massages, wine tasting, and just hanging out at the beach & pool. Also took a water taxi to Marigot Bay to Rainforest Hideaway Restaurant and that was nice!! Food was YUMMY!! It was our 1st trip alone without kids to celebrate our upcoming 11 yr anniversary and it was perfect!!
“Perfect”
Ti Kaye was just what we were looking for on our honeymoon. The staff was great. They made us feel like we were their only guests and truely wanted us to have the best time possible. The cottage was wonderful and we did not see any unwelcome guests (bugs, lizards, etc) in our room during our entire 5 night stay. Everytime we visited the beach, there were only one or two other couples there. Once in a while a party boat would visit the beach, but they did not stay long
“Beautiful, secluded resort”
This is a wonderful resort in St. Lucia. The only problem is its location and purely for the reason that it takes more time and money to get anywhere in St. Lucia for any activity or exploring. But having said that it is completely possible to still do activities and see much of the island, especially utilizing the land & sea tours from the resort or water taxis to Castries or Rodney Bay. It is a beautiful resort with a wonderful beach. Very serene and relaxing. The rooms are comfortable, well-decorated and well-maintained with a lovely hammock on the porch and nice views of the ocean. Given the location, you do have to eat most meals at the resort so be prepared for that additional cost...the meal plan does save you money on this aspect. Would highly recommend this resort to a couple looking for a secluded, relaxing getaway to spend time together.
“My Stay at Ti Kaye”
Ti Kaye is a very nice hotel, HOWEVER it is so far away from everything and it is a very long and curvy ride from the airport to the hotel. I would suggest that if you stay at Ti Kaye that you take a helicopter and water taxi to the hotel it will save you a lot of time and motion sickness from the drive. The staff at Ti Kaye are very personable and friendly. The food is good and the cottages on the beach with a plung pool is very nice. Also, there is no place to get food other than TiKaye unless you take a water taxi to another location.
“Knowing is half the battle”
Very nice property. 60 Steps to the beach and back was not as bad as I expected. Food gets a thumbs down. There is so much good creole food outside of the hotel. Sadly, everywhere is far and the roads aren't really too friendly for casual driving. Couple of negatives-- 10% service charge/tip on practically everything you get at the resort. Felt slightly nickel and dimed but I guess that's to be expected. Overall an awesome trip. Oh yeah. Don't you forget that mosquito repellant!
“Great hotel but not close to anything else!”
Ti Kaye shut down for a few weeks starting the day we left, to complete renovations. These were already in progress while we were there, so something things like the TV room / lounge, etc were not available during our stay, which was slightly disappointing as we were unaware this would be the case when we made our reservations. Also, if you are vegetarian, make sure you tell them in advance so they can accommodate with vegetarian options. I did not tell them until the second to last night of our stay because there was "enough" to eat on the dinner menu up to that point. Then one night there was basically nothing vegetarian on the dinner menu! If you are planning on shopping or visiting towns / cities, this is not the place to stay. Gas is incredibly expensive ($12/gallon!!) and getting anywhere from Ti Kaye takes at least an hour.
“Can't wait to go back!”
Everything was as expected at Ti Kaye! Absolutely loved how secluded it was, but still with plenty of activities to do at the resort (snorkeling down at the beach, fish fry festival, wine tastings, massages at the spa, and they even have a gym!) The food was AMAZING!!! Delicious, and so worth the price! I'm not much of a drinker, but even I was drinking their famous "Rum Punch". The service was over and beyond spectacular - only had one encounter where our food was late for dinner one night, but the service was incredible it didn't even matter anymore! Seriously, if you want a calm, secluded, romantic vacation - stick with Ti Kaye Village. You will walk out of there refreshed and wanting to come back for some more!
