“Antigua's excellent choice”
the view of the room was beautiful, the service excellent and they resolve any problem quickly...so relax.
“Paradise”
We loved this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful; the rooms were clean and comfortable; the food was delicious. Most importantly, the beach location and view was amazing. It was everything we wanted in a Caribbean getaway!
“A very romantic place!”
I agree with the reviews written here. Galley Bay is for couples who are looking for excellent food, phenomenal view, and above and beyond customer service. The staff were ALWAYS helpful, courteous and ever ready to cater to your needs. They take pampering to a new level. My fiancee and I both agree that our stay at the Galley Bay was made much more fulfilling due to the phenomenal service of the staff. They truly go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. If you are looking for night entertainment this may not be the place for you as the band stops playing at 11pm. After 11pm there is not much in terms of a nightlife. But I must say that our cottage/hut was right on the beach. We stayed in Cottage #4. Our back door led right out to the beach. Drinks were all-inclusive. 3 restuarants on this resort. Ismay will cost you 70.00 per couple with reservation. The other two are inlcusive. All restaurants serve delicous food a la carte. Transportation to the town can be arranged by visitng guest services and requesting car service. I was annoyed about the difference in price to the airport. On our return to the airport, we were charged an extra fee because we left at 5:00 am. We were told the "standard rate" applies After 7 am. I think this was nonsense. Nevertheless, it was a great vacation!
“Paradise”
Galley Bay was everything we had hoped for - beautiful, relaxed, secluded, romantic. The food and drink were great - I wasn't sure what to expect from an all-inclusive, but I was very very happy (and not just from the delicious drinks). Two thumbs up, I'd go back in a heartbeat.
“Wish I was still there”
My husband and I chose galley bay resort for our honeymoon. Everything about the hotel was fantastic, the staff, the rooms, the restaurants, just perfect. We can't wait to go back and review our vows on the beach one day. We highly recoommend this resort for all couples looking for a beautiful atmosphere, a laid back relaxing setting and friendliness to the point you feel like you have known them for years.
“Beautiful view”
The resort was beautiful and very well maintained. The view was magnificent, definitely a place for relaxing. The food was good, but got boring after a few days. They could have had more food choices. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but were slow in responding to requests. The resort should have a shuttle for guests. That would be a nice touch. When you want to leave the resort, it has to be by taxi, which was an added expense.
“Galley Bay amazing--Delta Airline not!”
Galley Bay was an amazing experience. It is very quiet but absolutely beautiful. Liked that there was not blaring music around all the time--in fact--never. The food was incredible. The rooms great--with a view to die for. I could throw a rock into the sea, it was that close. Took us a while to wind down and get into the 'do nothing' mode. Overall, it was great. Some days, the service was a little off--mostly the hostesses in the Seagrape were often very dour and cranky. But, the number of cranky employees was small and the facility so great, it was easy to overlook. Oh yes, the service at Gaugain was not very good at all. We only went once because we had an 8:30 reservation one night and we didn't even get a drink until almost 9:00!Other than that...all was amazing and we hope to return. EXCEPT--Delta was awful. Every leg was late. They were not very cooperative in booking decent reroutes. The hotel room they gave us when we missed our flight was awful. Appeared to be a hooker or two in the lobby. It was in an area where mostly truckers stayed. The windows were dirty. It was terrible. Almost ruined a perfectly relaxing vacation. The good news is we were so relaxed when we left that it would take a lot more than an horrendous airline to bring us down. We have vowed never to fly Delta again.
“Gorgeous venue - top 10!”
Location/ambiance is a 10! Stayed in Room #71 - ground level excellent location central to all amenities, a short walk to the stunning serene pool - staff attentive - the word "no" is not part of the vocabulary at Galley Bay
“Best Island Vacation Ever!!”
We didn't know much about this place but it was More that we expected. Everything and everyone was Great. Best Food Ever -every day a new selection. Gourmet all the way!! We will be returning as soon as possible!!
“Peaceful Retreat, Can't Wait to Go Back”
Overall, quite an escape! Gorgeous location, friendly staff, and this place brings new meaning to a beach front room - 20 feet from the water! The water and the beach is truly stupendous but watch the coral as it makes it a little difficult to swim. I will bring special shoes next time! And, there will definitely be a next time (hopefully by then they hire a french baker - the food was great but someone needs to introduce them to true French bread)!!!
