A nice experience for a couple married 50 years.Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: The setting is beautiful but the surf is strong and very rough.
Cons: How do you “fix” the rough surf?
Location: This is a gated community so staying on the property is the norm. If you are inclined, there is a pool table, and croquet field. A pool is also here
Staff was excellent and very helpful. Whenever we needed something we were sure one of the staff could solve our problem. However, the bed was very “lumpy” and hard for me to get in it because I am so short. The toilet had to be flushed several times because it wouldn’t clear the contents on one flush.

Nice and Quiet Resort in AntiguaPosted Apr 16, 2015
Recently went to the Galley Bay in my honeymoon. The resort was very nice and quiet. No kids which is a huge plus. Nice pool area and a long stretch of beach. We ate mostly at the Sea Grape restaurant and it never disappointed. The Barefoot Grill was a great choice for lunches. The staff was always very nice and friendly. They were definitely one of the best parts of the resort. The room (one of the superior rooms) was not quite as nice as we would have liked, but we honestly didn't go to just be cooped up in the room so it wasn't a big deal.

unbeatable positionPosted Apr 11, 2015
Galley Bay has a great beach, reasonable food (more like home cooking) and is close to the airport. It represents good value for money. The staff are not overly friendly with a few exceptions. The gym is too small for such a large hotel, becoming crowded once occupied by 4-5 people.

Excellent Honeymoon ExperiencePosted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: The intimate and calm setting throughout.
Cons: Music played at the Tee-Pee bar
Location: Friendly culture. We did not have to venture away from the resort, but we took the bicycles out for a "spin."
This place is fun, intimate, and tranquil! My wife and I honeymooned here and it met all of our wants and exceeded our needs. Setting: Super chill, intimate, and a great escape; not crowded like most resorts. Staff: Super friendly and fun staff with great sense of humor! Bar: Drinks were done just right! Food: Amazing choices on every menu for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner - there is something for every diet Beach: Beautiful views with the bluest/teal water. The sunsets are breathtaking and an ideal end to a busy day of play. Water Sports: Sign up and Go! Just tell them what you want to do and they set you up! We kayaked, Hobied, and snorkeled! Room: We stayed in a cottage, and it was a fantastic oasis setting for our honeymoon. We discussed that we would come back and we would stay beach front - because: We want to walk onto the beach from our door! For the budget: Best. Place. Ever. Also, go to the spa - you may as well soak it all in.

Stay of a lifetimePosted Mar 8, 2015
Prepare for the most restful and relaxing stay of your life. This place does beach resort with a perfection that you can't beat. Exquisite food and views, with the rooms so beautiful and in the right places. You will love your stay and it's worth the money, believe me, I couldn't afford this place but I'm so glad I did it anyways. Went for my honeymoon and can't wait to come back. Stay away from Captain Sean is my only advice, he's a salesman who wouldn't leave us alone. Book your excursions through the hotel, NOT HIM.

Total RelaxationPosted Jan 29, 2015
Pros: The location. It was clean. The rooms were plenty big enough with plenty of closet space.
Cons: They sometimes prepare the food using too much salt.
Location: We never left the resort except to go to the airport. Everything is right there for a leisurely, relaxing vacation.
Galley Bay is everything that has been written before on Trip Advisor. My wife and I spent a week there in mid January and we had a great time. The resort is beautiful, the setting is so serene and the staff at the resort are incredible. Couple all that with good food and great drinks and you have a vacation that is really special. The location is second to none. The beach is beautiful. The resort is quiet, clean and the rooms are right on the beach. The undertow from the water is very, very strong. Unsettling. The pool area is great with plenty of shade. We loved every minute of our time there and hated to leave. A couple of things that the staff could work on is that food was prepared with a little too much salt. I like salt so you needed to taste the food first before adding anything. The Gaugin restaurant was very nice, secluded, and very nice. Ismay's is worth the surcharge. We went there twice and it was worth every penny. It's difficult to say anything that hasn't been said a hundred times before on Trip Advisor. The place is special and that is why people return year after year. Our next door neighbors at the resort were there for the 15th straight year. Tons of people return to Galley Bay for vacation. It's that good. Chris, the GM, is everywhere checking to make sure that every guest is happy and having the best experience. Morning, Noon or Night this guy was everywhere. I would recommend Galley Bay highly. It's a little piece of heaven.

Great HoneymoonPosted Nov 3, 2014
My fiancé and I spent a week at Galley Bay for our honeymoon and we loved it. We specifically looked for an all-inclusive resort that was smaller and more intimate. Pros: Beautiful beach Great beachfront suites Above average food Quiet Good activities such as biking and kayaking Cons: The pool is a bit boring Wish there were more restaurants to choose from
