“Can't wait to go back.”

For an all inclusive I feel more food and drinks need to be offered . The beds and pillows were rock hard,,,very unfomfortable for me. I did enjoy the breakfast and dinner buffet. I was totally against the hotel beach people asking us to move to the far end of the beach because cruise ship beachers were coming in. For the price your paying we should be allowed to sit directly in front of our hotel. However our lunch buffett was located at the far end i feel it was rude to tell us to move(I did not move).

“Pretty darn good for the price!”

While attending a wedding next door at Sandals, I chose to stay at the Rex for 1/4 of the price Sandals wanted. Now, the Rex wasn't all-inclusive like Sandals, BUT...it's on the same beach, it was clean and comfortable and the staff was quite pleasant, and - mainly - it is a LOT less expensive. As a quick aside, when my colleagues went fishing and returned with their fresh catch, the chef gladly prepared several fresh dishes that were absolutely delicious, and for free (we threw him a nice tip, of course)...a BIG thumbs-up for that one. Pros: Price; location; hotel grounds and pool were very well maintained and perfect for my desires; the food was great! Cons: Luke-warm "hot water" and minimal water pressure; slightly outdated, but fully functional.

“Will be back”

I enjoyed my time at Halcyon Cove by Rex, and I will be going back (if the price is right). I was there partly on vacation and partly on business. Generally I didn't have business meetings at the hotel - I had 1 breakfast and 1 dinner meeting there. But the location worked for me for both purposes because I rented a car and am a comfortable + experienced Caribbean driver. Overall the place needs some upgrades + maintenance, but it's a really nice property in general. All meals were great if not excellent. The occasional night-time entertainment was fun- karaoke, live bands, etc.. Staff are generally friendly. The beach is GORGEOUS! A little pebbly at the shore line as you walk in, but soft + wonderful white sand otherwise. Very private feeling to the bay on the one side of the Warri Pier restaurant - which is just a wonderful place that you MUST go to (even if you aren't staying here!). I'm not a pool person, so I cannot comment on it except to say the lounge chairs + umbrellas around it are really nice. There is also NO shortage of beach loungers either. Rooms are comfortable + kept very clean, as are the restaurants + the whole property in general. I regularly walked from one end of the bay to the end of the new Sandals. I did this late at night by myself (I'm a fairly attractive 30-year old lady) and between the security at each property + the other guests from each hotel along the strip - I felt (and was) perfectly safe and comfortable. I plan to go back.

“Good time at Halcyon Cove”

This hotel is a little worn around the edges, but it was good for the price. It was clean. We didn't get the all-inclusion plan, so we had to go into town to eat, which gets expensive for the taxi ride . We got groceries, so this helped, and we did have a refrigerator in the room. We ate at the hotel twice and the food was okay. The beach was nice, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They had entertainment nightly, which was fun. I think it would be nice if they had more towels available. If you didn't go at the right time of day, they were always out. The pool closed at 6:00 p.m, which I thought was a little early. I would stay there again.

“better than expected”

great location on lovely bay with only one other neighboring resort. staff was super friendly. while not luxurious, room was more than serviceable; clean, cool, and relatively spacious with comfortable beds.

“close proximity to the beach”

overall, this hotel is very nice. The hotel is located on the beach, though the rooms do not have ocean front view

“Good value for money”

This was our first visit to Antigua. From the moment we got out of our taxi, we were greeted by friendly staff. We were offered a cold towel and and a drink. Effeciently checked in to our rooms. The room was clean and tidy. The beach was excellent! Overall a very happy experience. We would certainly recommend this hotel.

“Good but not great.”

We enjoyed our stay immensely at Halcyon Cove but there are a few things that needs to be rectify. First of all we went all inclusive but once we got there we found out that premium liquors were not available to us we were very disappointed that we were not able to get Absolute Vodka, Patron also Heineken beer, that was really ridiculous. Also, there was a foul scent in the bathroom the whole time we were there which made going to the bathroom and showering unpleasant. Overall our stay was very pleasant, the staff was excellent, the food was good except we had to pay full price for dinner at the Wari Pier restaurant which was really surprising to us. They could have made it half price and even a little extra but full price was a bit outrageous. Halcyon Cove needs to explain their all inclusive plan because it really was not all inclusive and we were very disappointed in the way that was advertised. We should not have had to make all those extra purchases since we were on the all inclusive plan. But still we did have a great time and met some very nice people and hopefully made some new friends. We would recommend our friends to stay at the resort and we hope to return in the near future ourselves for a little longer stay and hopefully under improved conditions. Also we were surprised we could not get internet access from our room we had to go to their lobby in order to get internet access. Hopefully they will rectify these things in the future.
