Beautiful spot, but beware the food pricesPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: Fantastic location, friendly staff and great accommodation.
Cons: A better range of menu in the evening at more sensible prices for families
Location: English harbour is 35 mins drive away
We just spent a great Thanksgiving break at Nonsuch Bay. Its everything it promises to be, upscale and a wonderful location. However, you must be aware that the hotel is a long way down an unmade road from anywhere and as such you really have to eat in the restaurant. Thats fine until you work out the prices (especially for dinner), and a family of 5 will struggle to keep the cost below $400 WITHOUT wine. No complaints about the quality, it is really very good, but if you have kids its way over the top, and you have to push to get them to allow you to order of the lunch menu, and when you do they push the prices up anyway...

Beautiful condo great staffPosted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: Staff & views
Cons: Shuttle to a better beach
Location: Remote location, taxi or car is needed
Loved the condo, staff was very pleasant, remote location, beach was disappointing, shallow & weedy. Infinity pool almost compensated.

Great property but far from the actionPosted Aug 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Resort was very nice with spacious rooms. I really enjoyed having that much room with a really large bedroom, closet, kitchen, dining area, living room and large outside veranda. The property had several infinity pools and a small beach. The kitchen was fully functional and was handy to prepare meals. The restaurant is good but pricey at dinner time. Check out the happy hour specials for good deals. The one downside to the property is the distance from St John's and other activities. Most places will take you 30-40 minutes to get to. As other reviews said you will travel ~10 minutes on a gravel road to get out to the hotel from the closest village so make sure to take the advice and rent an SUV.

Nice Quite ResortPosted Aug 2, 2013
The resort was extremely nice and well ran. The bay is beautiful! The day trip to Green Island which is ran by the resort is well worth it! The room was beautiful (one bedroom apartment) with a spectacular view! The only downside is the over priced food. The food was ok but the prices were far too high, but it is an island with limited resources so they did well with what they had. Main advice would be to rent a car from the local rental center so that you can explore the island and its many beaches on your own time, do NOT be afraid to venture out and explore because the beaches everywhere are amazing and the people are bery friendly. Also, plan a few dinners/lunches to make for yourself and stop at the local grocery store Epicurean. Other than that, you honestly can not find a better place to go and stay if you are looking for a very quite and spectacular get away! Would recommend it to everyone!

Great for dinghy sailingPosted Jun 19, 2013
Pros: Sailing, quality of apartments
Location: Kind of remote, half moon bay is close by, but is is also low key and remote - great for those to hate to be in the thick of 'resort land'.
I stayed at Nonsuch Bay with my family in a 2 bed apartment. Our apartment had a great location just up from the beach bungalows and looking over one of the infinity pools. We arrived in early June and there were very few other guests. We booked Nonsuch Bay for the sailing and we were not disappointed, we sailed most days, the sailing staff were fantastic and we had so much fun. I am not sure if I would recommend this resort to non-sailors as the beach could only be described as 'OK', but if you are into waterspouts (including kite surfing, which is also available and seemed like great fun) , this is the place to be. The wind is reliable and keeps it cool in comparison to other places on Antigua. All the staff are very friendly and the restaurant is a great alternative to self catering, but it would be pricey to eat there exclusively. It's isolated, so bring supplies with you from StJohns before you arrive and hire a car so that you can venture out a bit. It is described as a luxury resort, I guess that is accurate, but it is not at all 'flouncy', it's comfortable and clean and great service. We will be back there to sail next year for sure!

Great secluded hotel for a relaxing holidayPosted May 27, 2013
Pros: Seclusion, swimming pool, spacious accommodation, good food, friendly staff.
Cons: No grocery shop for essentials.
Location: Secluded hotel down a gravel road away from the masses, private beach with boat access to uninhabited Green Island.
We loved our stay at Nonsuch Bay. The accommodation was spacious and well equipped, and the meals we had in the restaurant were delicious. The menu didn't change while we were there but we were only staying for 5 days so that did not matter as there was enough choice (the lobster panini at lunchtime was devine). It is a secluded resort with not a lot around but that is what we really liked (however no where is that far if you hire a car). We also brought some food on route by getting our taxi to stop at a supermarket, but the hotel did allow us to by bread from them even though at present there is no grocery shop nearby despite accommodation having decent kitchens for self-catering. We had already stayed in English Harbour and did our site seeing/beach visiting from there so thoroughly enjoyed not having to go anywhere, except for having to decide whether to go from a swim or go to the beach. We did visit Green Island by water taxi from the hotel (10 mins in a rib, $15 each) and enjoyed secluded beaches and good snorkelling there. The sailing chap also came and checked on us mid afternoon and he took us to another beach on the island. We were there in low season and so there were only a few other guests and often had the pool to ourselves, the weather was good and the trade winds meant it was rarely too stifling (would be ideal for younger children-we had left ours at home!) and good for the sailing sports they offer. The staff were all friendly and helpful to us.

Beautiful ResortPosted May 26, 2013
Pros: The helpful staff and the peaceful setting.
Cons: Dirt road to and from the resort
Very beautiful resort. Staff couldn't have been nicer. Zoe was amazing. Very good suggestions on what to do on the island. The only draw back was the dirt road to and from the resort. It is a little out of the way, but worth the drive!

Nonsuch was a delightful way for my husband and I to end our two-week honeymoon on Antigua. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful and the quality of service was exceptional. Our room was well kept and the kitchen was well-stocked with anything you'd need to prepare your own meals. Everything was very clean and easy to find. It definitely made for a relaxing stay. It would have been nice if we'd been given an option on which room we stayed in since the resort was not fully booked. We were placed near two families and were woken up early on most mornings due to the activity of the children staying nearby. We didn't mention it to the hotel staff, but in hindsight would have wished we asked to be moved or would have appreciated them asking our preference on where we stayed (first v. second floor, near others v. a few doors down, etc.) from the very start. The hotel offers a range of activities and we took advantage of a couple. For honeymooners the hotel offered some great treats, which we really appreciate - champagne, a fruit platter and a sunset sail. Like I said above the service could not be better. The setting is gorgeous and is pretty far removed from anything else - which makes it a nice, quiet area, but also a bit difficult to get to. They do take care of you though, offering rides to and from the airport and offering assistance with directions if you're driving yourself. It's definitely a bit of paradise at Nonsuch!

Nonsuch Bay Resort, a wonderful place to stay!Posted Mar 19, 2013
Pros: The unit, the food, the pool, the beach, the tropical flowers
Cons: Some of the other guests
Location: Worth the drive to the other side of the island from St. John's and the airport
Nonsuch Bay Resort is a wonderful place to stay. The people are very pleasant, friendly and efficient. The food is excellent, so if you do not want to go out for a meal you never have to do so. There is a nice beach at the resort and another lovely one, Half Moon Bay not far away. The pools are well maintained and often you can have one to yourself. The units are spotless and very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed our verandah in the mornings and evenings. We have stayed there twice and highly recommend this resort.
