Truly Amazing HotelPosted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: What not to like (except the spa service)!!! The hotel, rooms, food, entertainment/team, service, beach and pool area, everything was spectacular!
Cons: The beach sellers can be annoying as the beaches aren’t private, so sadly the hotel can't do anything but they have a great level of security present
Location: Location was perfect! Onsite water sports were great and the guys on the beach selling trips are genuine so totally safe to book with.
From arriving at the airport, where our shuttle was waiting, to arriving at the hotel to a cold face towel, arrival drink and ipad check in, this hotel truly had the wow factor from start to finish! The service and food was outstanding and the staff are so friendly, always smiling and singing – nothing was too much trouble. We booked a Mediterranean Club room and was very impressed with the facilities, Jacuzzi bath, separate shower and the extensive mini bar was replenished daily. The only thing I was disappointed with was the spa serive (facilitis are amazing), which sadly I was looking forward to the most, to be pampered and feel special. Instead I felt rushed and like the staff were just trying to sell everything. They requested an extra $30 each for more pressure in a massage, which I find very odd as I have had many massages in many countries and never had a request for extra charge for a firm massage instead of medium pressure! We declined on principle after already charging $265 per couple. And at the end they recommend a further massage and 4 products to purchase and push for you to agree to book then and also buy the products you don’t really want - We didn't book further or buy unwanted products!

We enjoyed the wonderful food and extremely helpful and sincerely kind staff. We were very impressed with the manager and chef of the Drunkin Duck. One night I mentioned that I'd love some onion rings, but it was not on the menu. The manager asked the chef if he could make some and he did. That's great service.

Beautiful hotel in a tropical paradise!Posted Jul 7, 2015
Sandals Grande Antigua was the perfect stay for our honeymoon. From the very start, the staff was accommodating and friendly. We were greeted upon arrival with warm smiles and champagne. All the restaurants are delicious, but we loved Mario's on the Mediterranean side. The grounds are well-maintained, and the pools are clean. It was the perfect honeymoon destination!

Beautiful grounds, huge pool, great foodPosted Apr 19, 2015
Pros: Staff, food, grounds
Cons: Limit the beach vendors, they get annoying very quickly.
My wife and I just returned from the Sandals Grande Antigua yesterday after spending the past week enjoying a delayed honeymoon at the resort. We were incredibly impressed with the resort facilities, everything from the grounds to the many pools, to the restaurants and bars was immaculate and beautiful. We enjoyed almost every day in the large pool getting drinks from the swim up bar and utilized the many floats to enjoy the beautiful weather we enjoyed for the entire week. The bartenders at the swim up bar and at the many other bars were quick to refresh our drinks and were very friendly. Make sure you get a chair at the pool early in the day as it is very popular and the chairs get taken quickly. We avoided the beach after spending the first day there as the beach is public and there are many vendors trying to sell jewelry, t-shirts, etc. It got annoying quick but we enjoyed the pool even more and met lots of new friends floating around! The food at the different restaurants is excellent. We enjoyed the courtyard bistro for lunch, and Kimonos, Ok Corral, and Marios were are favorites for dinner. The thing that really stood out to my wife and I were the staff, they were very genuine and seemed to actually enjoy working at the resort. Everyone from the bartenders to the grounds crew greeted us with a smile and helped us with whatever we needed. We would recommend this resort to anyone looking to enjoy themselves in paradise with great staff and great food.

It was ok.Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: I liked the food and the friendliness of the staff.
Cons: The entire bathtub, including the walls surrounding the tub, should be replaced.
The ambiance was great. The food was even better! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms could use some renovating. In the bathtub the shower head, drain, and walls had rust. If everyone spends as much money as I did on a room then Sandals resort can afford to restore their facilities.

Good but could've been better.Posted Apr 5, 2015
Room was clean but needed a little tlc. Location of the room was disappointing considering the price we paid. The grounds are amazing. The staff was polite and helpful. The food was good but could've been better. The amenities are plentiful. Beach was nice except for the vendors coming up to you every 2 minutes. Literally. I have to say i expected a little more from my trip considering the cost. Overall a good time but not sure if i would be going back.

Excellent Stay!Posted Mar 31, 2015
Service and extremely polite staff. Beautiful grounds, clean and safe. Water sports were terrific. Bed was kinda firm, unless you like that. Unfortunately, dining was raised to new heights of mediocrity. All was served with delight. All was displayed with style. But for a world class resort you do expect mind blowing taste and seasoning. Sad that the Sandals Corporation had decided to ship in everything along with frozen meats and fish. A interior tour of Antigua shows it has plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. And for meats too. Unbelievable that the seafood comes from elsewhere when so much fresh is available so close and locally.

Pros: beautiful grounds, lovely pool. good lattes
Cons: get rid of the stray cats roaming the grounds; annoying. Hot tub at Caribbean pool was not working.
Loved the fact that there were no children; couples/adults only. Most of the staff were very friendly but there were a few that were not; simply eye contact and a smiling, friendly greeting as soon as a guest approaches the bar is all that it takes, even if they're busy.
