"Just the loveliest place"
We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days at Curtain Bluff over Spring Break. The staff and the activities make this place most unique. We have travelled extensively, and for a beach break, this is the bomb! We will definitely return.

"Total relaxation"
We arrived at the Carlisle Bay after 5 nights at the Cooper Island Beach Club in the BVI thinking it couldn't get more chilled and relaxing, but it could. The Carlisle Bay is complete haven of cool, the place seemingly having been designed to promote de-stressing (not that we needed it after Cooper Island). It is spread out all along a perfect beach so despite having 80+ rooms it never feels crowded. The staff are excellent and the public areas gorgeous.

"Great Time!"
Enjoyed our two nights at the Yacht Marina Resort. It was our anniversary, and the staff did a terrific job in making it very memorable. We recieved a complimentary upgrade to a sea view room, which has the best views of the Harbour and the also a nice bottle of champagne. Rose petals on the bed added a special touch. When we visit Antigua again, that will be our first stop!

"Perfect customer service"
We had a magical time, partly due to both the beautiful setting but, more significantly, the wonderful staff. Every single one, from the groundsman who swept the beach clean every morning to the manager of the wedding service, was helpful, friendly and brilliant. Nothing was ever too much trouble, even when we were maybe asking too much. Any time we asked a question, the answer comes with a smile and "you're welcome" when we remembered to say thank you. All the food was very high standard and the choice quite amazing. The local fish catch in particular was tasty and varied. We particularly liked the type of buildings, low rise in the local style and lovely, slightly old style, furniture. We were there for a family wedding and this was organised beautifully with a lovely local feel to the ceremony. We believe there are plans to redevelop the site to standardize the rooms and processes. We are concerned that you may lose the charm and relaxed friendly atmosphere. We are also concerned that the staff do not seem to be kept informed and don't know if their jobs are safe. On an island where tourism is the only stable employment, this is poor management, please treat these wonderful people better.

"Excellent Stay!"
Service and extremely polite staff. Beautiful grounds, clean and safe. Water sports were terrific. Bed was kinda firm, unless you like that. Unfortunately, dining was raised to new heights of mediocrity. All was served with delight. All was displayed with style. But for a world class resort you do expect mind blowing taste and seasoning. Sad that the Sandals Corporation had decided to ship in everything along with frozen meats and fish. A interior tour of Antigua shows it has plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. And for meats too. Unbelievable that the seafood comes from elsewhere when so much fresh is available so close and locally.

"Nice and Quiet Resort in Antigua"
Recently went to the Galley Bay in my honeymoon. The resort was very nice and quiet. No kids which is a huge plus. Nice pool area and a long stretch of beach. We ate mostly at the Sea Grape restaurant and it never disappointed. The Barefoot Grill was a great choice for lunches. The staff was always very nice and friendly. They were definitely one of the best parts of the resort. The room (one of the superior rooms) was not quite as nice as we would have liked, but we honestly didn't go to just be cooped up in the room so it wasn't a big deal.

Antigua and Barbuda Resort & Spa Travel Guide

    When to Visit Roatan

Roatan is generally balmy all year long with high temperatures in the mid to high 80s. However, to avoid the wet season, have the best diving weather, and see the most marine wildlife, visit the area in the spring and early summer. February and March are the best months to enjoy mild weather, very little rain, and ample sun. Other popular times to book hotels in Roatan include the Christmas holiday season and during spring break when people are looking for a warm, lush place to get away from the cold weather farther north.

    Things to Do

Even though it is a fairly small island, Roatan is practically bursting with activities that the entire family can enjoy. Of course, the most popular activities are water sports, such as snorkeling, scuba diving, and deep-sea fishing. However, you can explore beautiful tropical forests in central Roatan with off-road vehicles or on a zip line, or you can take a moonlight stroll along the gorgeous white beaches. Coxen Hole, the capital of the island, offers great sightseeing tours, shopping, and local cuisine, and the West Bay area is loaded with beaches and diving opportunities. You can explore natural wonders by taking a diving class or snorkeling through the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world. Other fun attractions include the Blue Harbor Tropical Arboretum, Carambola Botanical Gardens, and Arch's Iguana and Marine Park in French Harbor.

    Amenities at Roatan Resorts

Roatan resorts offer an amazing array of amenities that will help you feel right at home as soon as you arrive on the island. No matter what your needs are, Expedia.com offers a huge array of hotel and resort options at fantastic prices. From concierge service to complimentary drinks, Roatan, Honduras, all-inclusive resorts have everything you need to fill your time and feel pampered without ever leaving the resort. Many of these resorts also have on-site fitness centers, tennis courts, basketball courts, and other sports facilities to help you stay in shape in between feasting on sumptuous international cuisine at on-site restaurants. If you prefer water sports to lounging under a beach umbrella, check out Roatan dive resorts, which offer on-site scuba diving.

Some Roatan island resorts are for adults only, making them a perfect choice if you are planning a romantic getaway with your significant other or looking for a quiet honeymoon location. Each resort offers at least one pool for freshwater swimming, and many have direct beach access complete with sun umbrellas and lounge chairs. Another amenity that will make it easy to relax is childcare, offered by several resorts for an additional fee.

    The Region Surrounding Roatan

Roatan is a long, narrow island with amazingly diverse geography. While you will first appreciate the miles of beaches along the famous West Bay end of the island, you'll discover that Roatan has beautiful tropical mangrove forests in its interior and stunning volcanic rock along its northern coast. If you decide to step outside your resort to explore, you can easily travel to mainland Honduras on the La Ceiba ferry. There, you can tour the Parque Nacional Pico Bonito or go whitewater rafting down the Rio Cangrejal.

Whether you are planning a family vacation or are looking for a special place to celebrate a relationship milestone, Roatan, Honduras, resorts offer the fabulous amenities you need while the island itself will give you the dose of sun, water, and nature that you crave. Book your flight to Roatan as well as your island resort through Expedia.com to score great deals on your next memorable yet cheap vacation.
