Peacefull, wonderful views, excellent restaurant

Posted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: Peacefull, wonderful views, excellent restaurant, just as I've already said
Cons: Wardrobe in the bathroom? Plenty space for it in a more suitable location. A very minor blip on an otherwise excellent hotel.
Location: Located on the hillside above Dickenson Bay, so not a beach location. However, the views more than make up for the lack of being beachside.
4 perfectly relaxing nights. Good sleep, good food, good location. Sorry to leave.

Beautiful environment, menu items are a hit or miss but overall it was clean and pleasing. Each room has a balcony or veranda with a beautiful view. It was great for late night talks, drinks, etc.

Pros: Staff and restaurant.
Cons: Many rooms need a refurb as they are very dated.
Location: good shuttle to the beech although rather odd times for the return journey 2pm or 5pm which is too big a gap.
Pretty basic facillities but at the cost no surprise. Very freindly staff and good restaurant made up for it. So my disappointment on arrival was overcome. Not the place to relax all day as pool cold and constant wind! I could also hear the traffic from the road below which I was not expecting. We used it as a base to explore other parts of the island and for that it was fine. Very helpful staff when we needed to access a doctor and wheelchair unexpectedly.

Its a bit windy at Trade Winds Hotel

Posted Jan 24, 2014
Pros: Pleasant setting with some nice touches. Pretty gardens and good views down to the bay.
Cons: The rooms (particularly the bathrooms) and the restaurant.
Location: The beach is ten/fifteen minutes walk and well worth it. It's a great beach.
Pleasant enough hotel, set high on the hill overlooking the bay. Junior Suite was nice with good views but a bit basic. Pleasant little pool and sun terrace but rather exposed to the winds. Staff were OK but service could be slow. Restaurant was pretty average, but the breakfast was good. It's a ten to fifteen minute walk to the beach down a steep hill, so getting back can be a struggle.

slow service

Pros: Sitting on the terrace by the bar enjoying the view whilst having a complimentary drink.
Cons: Service time in the restaurant
Location: location was a little out of the way with not much nearby, a taxi is needed to get anywhere
There were five of us in the party and we had three rooms all of which had lovely views over the bay, It was also only 20 minutes from the airport. The rooms were quite basic and the showers were just workable, I only got one of the 5 channels on the tv to work and that was an exercise channel. The restaurant also had good views and the food was ok but after we ordered just a main course each we waited over an hour for the food to arrive even though they were not busy, it was also on the expensive side for what we had as was the wine, I was amazed to find this restaurant said it was the best on the island. The hotel does a shuttle to the beach but it only runs at certain times and if you want to walk it is only about 20 minutes down but it is a steep uphill walk back. The pool in the hotel was small, more like a large plunge pool and very cold so there was no one in it. The breakfast was good but when we arrived at 7.30 it was just being opened and we had to wait a while for the kitchens started up. It is out of the way and if anyone wants to go to St john it is best to get a taxi as it is a long walk.

Quiet and Peaceful Hotel

Posted Jan 11, 2014
Pros: I loved the views.
Cons: The food could be better for the price.
Location: You have to drive everywhere. The roads are not lit at night and it is left hand driving. I tried to avoid driving a night.
The hotel is up on a hill and have beautiful views. You have to drive to the beach. The staff is very helpful and work hard to make the guest stay comfortable. There is restaurant on the premises with a breathtaking view. Food is ok but not great but it's a lovely place to have a drink. Its about a 20 minutes drive to St. Johns.

Amazing Service/View/Breezes

Posted Jan 5, 2014
Pros: personal
Cons: slippery tiles around pool
Location: stay at the hotel and just relax.
We had to book this hotel as a last minute resort so we had no idea what we might be getting. When we arrived we were relieved by how nice it is. We walked into the room and were amazed at how large and clean it is. The double sink bathroom is spacious and the layout very nice. Then we noticed the balcony and how large and private it is with a table, 2 chairs plus 2 lounge chairs. The breeze was fantastic. We were thrilled. It was night time so we had no idea what lay beyond our balcony. The next morning we were awe struck by the incredible view of the ocean, and not just a small angle between buildings but full on. INCREDIBLE! We rented the Junior Suite for 2 nights. Wish we had stayed longer. The meals were exceptional and the atmosphere is amazing. Everyone was very accomodating and genuinly interested in our being happy. Thank you for making all of our stay wonderful

Delightful decor, lovely position

Posted Jan 4, 2014
Pros: Comfortable bed, excellent menu and breakfast, lovely location and helpful staff
Cons: nothing
Location: Go to the beach, nearby trips to various sites of historic interest.
With just one night here before we were due home to England, we could not have had a nicer end to our Christmas and New Year break in Tortola, BVI. The hotel was excellent by all accounts. The food and service was excellent, the bed was (at last!) the most comfortable hotel bed we can remember, and both rooms had plenty of space and class facilities. Thank you.
