The stay at the Hotel Meson Panza Verde was truly unforgettable. Room #8 was simply fantastic, one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in. The best part of this hotel, though, is the staff. Kevin and Mari at the front desk were the most accomodating and friendly individuals I've encountered in all my travels (I've traveled 3 continents and over 20 countries in the last year). Gavin, the manager, was also very helpful and friendly with his knowledge of local restaurants and attractions for visitors, and was able to help identify a local school for children in need. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Antigua.

Hotel is conveniently located near Market and La Merced Cathedral above the Central Park and easy walking on flat sidewalks to all areas. Facility is clean, more spacious than most in town, and a lovely view of the mountains from veranda.

I stayed here 3 nights at the end of April 2015. We arrived around 11:30 pm as we had a late bus from Honduras and they greeted my boyfriend and I with a smile and showed us to our room immediately. The concierge was very polite and answered all of our questions. The breakfast in bed was a nice touch and even though we were a same-sex couple we were always treated very well by all of the staff.

We travel quite often and usually like to stay in nice places... and this doesn't disappoint! It's a quaint place right next to the Santa Catalina Arch and close to many popular restaurants and sites. In terms of quality it seems to compare with Casa Domingo hotel (another popular choice) but we found San Rafael more personal in terms of service. This hotel has a lot of privacy that no other hotel in the area provides. The service was superb - staff helped us organize/book whatever we needed. The breakfast isn't your casual continental type, it compares with Cora's breakfast. Would stay here again, piece of oasis, amazing service and the best location. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

A wonderful and bijoux hotel with the most comfortable beds and luxurious sheets that we have ever encountered. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough to help with advice and the provision of excellent breakfasts and drinks. The rooms are extremely clean and well decorated with imaginative artisan textiles, furniture and ceramics in the colonial style. The hotel itself is conveniently placed in historic Antigua and makes an excellent base for exploring the beauty of Guatemala. We had a wonderful and exciting time in a beautiful part of the world, we would certainly go back.

Serenity and Colonial charm lure many to Antigua. Its Baroque-style Catedral features 17th century ruins, and La Merced--with its wedding cake façade--has a fountain said to be the largest in Central America. Shop the Mercado for local crafts or hike a volcano for spectacular views. During Holy Week (Semana Santa) see processions over elaborate carpets of dyed sawdust and fresh flowers.
