“Take a ride on the narrow guage RR”

This is an older style motel reminding me of travel in the 70's. Park in front of your room and use a real door key.. My Grandson thought it was great and loved the layout of the room. Just the basics two beds a bathroom. Air conditioner was the old slide in the wall and was not used as the weather was perfect. The location to The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad was what I wanted and is withen walking distance from the Motel. The train ride is an all day affair and I was greatfull for the nearness of the Motel after the bus/train let us off at the point of orgin.

The staff was awesome! Friendly and considerate. Upon arrival I explained how I requested a smoking room by accident so I was given the option of waiting for a non-smoking room to be cleaned. The only inconvience was the credit card machine was out of order but even at that they were very trustworthy about me returning with payment.

Very adequate. A small town, older motel but has been maintained well, kept clean and the folks are friendly. Above average morning coffee in the lobby.

The Narrow Gauge Motel was very convenient to the railroad station in Antonito. One could walk from the hotel to the station easily. The price was right for the motel. It was functional and basic and seemed clean and quiet. I would recommend it to anyone wanting reasonable accomodations with no frills.

“Perfect for the train”

Clean and comfortable, friendly staff, and ideally located. Not luxurious, but well suited for its purpose.

The room was not clean when we got there and there was a little bit of what I think was pot, in the nightable drawer. We were only there to get dressed for a wedding after driving down from Denver and to sleep overnight in order to take the train the next morning. So I guess the room served its purpose.

“OK with no other choices”

This hotel was OK considering the low nightly senior rate. The room had minimal creature comforts, the heater was excessively noisy and the free internet required you to respond to a survey to get on line. The only saving grace was the convenient location next to the Cumbres & Toltec railroad station.

“Small motel next to a famous railroad tour”

This is a small, remote town in Colorado, and I found the motel to be exactly what I would expect. The person checking us in was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable, though nothing fancy. It was right next to the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad, which was not running on its 2012 schedule yet, but I would definitely return to take a trip on this scenic narrow gauge railroad, and would stay at this motel when I do.

“Dump Dump Dump”

Don't go there. Their discription of this place is pure fiction. It is like stepping back in time. The renovation consists of new light fixtures. The ameneities are non existant. If you can sleep through bikers in and out and people drinking beer, this is the place for you. If you want a nice clean room, and cleanliness, don't go. A pure dump.
