No value for moneyPosted Feb 6, 2014
We expect more from a four star hotel. Staff were surly, hotel during the day dark and not welcoming . Parking charges were rediculously high.

Excellent location, and hotel. In the center of the city, and easy walk to everything.

Nice Location, Overpriced Hotel.Posted Jan 20, 2014
Pros: Location, Bath (Very Deep & Very Long!) & Breakfast.
Cons: A general overhaul of the rooms (that include WiFi) to reflect the high room rate
Hotel is in a great location but for the money we paid we were disappointed with the room & facilities. The room smelt like sewers, inside the wardrobe was dirty (to the point we didn't unpack) & the mirrored, wardrobe door was cracked. We had a 'Garden Patio' which was a dark corner of an unkempt yard with cigarette ends on the floor & artificial plants! There was no WiFi in the room (something I would definitely expect at this price) The concierge gave us a pre paid card for internet access (12.50 Euros per day) but every time my WiFi device locked the connection dropped out, very annoying & a complete waste of money.

A pleasant surprise in AntwerpPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: It was clean, obliging and understated.I would go back any time I am in Antwerp.
Cons: Leave it alone: it's a little gem as it sits.
Location: Right around the cormer from the municioal center and the Grote market. Within walking distance of a major museum
Perfectly wonderful, clean hotel. Great staff who pointed out places to visit in Antwerp, and a great restaurant around the corner for dinner. Cannot praise the hotel enough. Good night's sleep and exciting time in town. Breakfast was good, too.

Great 3 DaysPosted Sep 5, 2013
Pros: Room spacious and clean. Internet access good. Breakfast included - very good buffet.
Cons: Everything excellent. We arrived by train from Amsterdam so we did have a car. Understand that difficult to park at the hotel.
Location: Location is right in the old town. Lots of restaurants with hearty food (casseroles etc) and magnificent beer, Plenty of Westmalle beer on draft.
Arrived on Aug 15th - a holiday. The Grote Markt was packed for the 3 days - families drinking beer and noisy etc. Hotel just around the corner - very quiet despite proximity to the fun. Antwerp is not on the premiere list for N American tourists. We found it a working city and delightful. Food hearty and beer is the world's best. Much better culinary experience than in Amsterdam.

A tranquil placePosted May 22, 2013
Pros: The large room and the breakfast
Location: Very central
The Reuben's hotel is ideally situated behind the grote market on a quiet street but right in the midst of the old town. We had a beautiful large room with a sitting area. Breakfast was served in a peasant room off the courtyard. The staff was attentive to our every request. It was a pleasure to return here at te end of a day of sightseeing.

Good locationPosted Apr 8, 2013
Cons: separate toilet room with no extractor fan or handbasin.
Location: Good and central
We found the staff helpful. The hotel was well located with the centre of Antwerp but a little old-fashioned in the bedroom and bathroom. it would have been nicer to have the toilet in the bathroom and not a separate room with no handbasin. I do not recall an extractor fan in the toilet room. The shower screen was never cleaned and the grouting could have been de-blackened.
