Excellent location

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Maybe, paint the comunal areas other color than black. Personal overnight at the hotel.
Location: The location is excellent, inside the Old city, restaurants, etc.
The O has an avant-garde decoration. Be aware that the bathtube is inside the room, without curtains, only cristal... The hotel close its doors a night and to go inside you need a magnetic card. The room otherwise is beautiful and the location perfect: near the cathedral. Good choice for me... The breakfast, for only 5€, is very good...

Close to the cathedral, as it's name implies.

Pros: Central location.
Cons: More lighting, fewer Mosquitos.
The hotel was unique. It was centrally located and within walking distance of shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. The lobby was small but welcoming. The rooms and corridors are painted black. It makes for an interesting experience. Some of the rooms are very small. Privacy may be lacking within some rooms. The hotel itself does not have air conditioning and must be cooled by opening windows, which is great. Unfortunately while we were there it was raining and we had a few mosquitos get into the room. Because the room is black with minimal lighting, we could not find them. We woke up each morning with numerous mosquito bites.

unconventional, funky place

Posted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: location (if you don't mind a bit of noise)
Cons: more furnishings, amenities (such as a coffee/tea tray)
Location: next door to the cathedral, walking distance to the Rubens House
The room was reasonably comfortable though spare, and there's no separate bathroom but only an open shower shielded by transparent glass so you get to watch your partner washing. :) Very convenient location on the cathedral square. Decent breakfast.

Centraly located, Eclectic Hotel

Posted Dec 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Perfect location - overlooks the cathedral & close to the Groenplaats metro stop. Eclectic hotel - modern "decour noir" with Rubens-style mural-type painting over the walls and ceiling. Shower is in the middle of the room, which may be akward for non-couple duo travelers. Only shortcoming is the queen bed was really two twins together with one mattress over the top. The frames slipped a bit, causing a "gap" in the middle of the bed. I mentioned the issue, but it was not resolved. Otherwise, it waas a great stay.

Perfect location in Antwerp

Posted Aug 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
A lovely boutique hotel in the historical heart of Antwerp. Wonderful staff but a hotel that already needs some paint touch ups and maintenance. The stairwell was dark and dusty and the black painted rooms already show signs of age. It can be VERY noisy on the weekends as its right across from the cathedral and by a lot of restaurants.

GREAT hotel

My fiance and I stayed here over the holidays and we agreed it was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. Perfect location overlooking the cathedral... Unique design that is both romantic and quirky... Reasonable price... Staff was very friendly, too. A tiny word of warning: If you're a light sleeper, you may not appreciate the street noise from the square below on weekend nights. Didn't bother either of us, though...

Interesting for a night

Posted Oct 3, 2012
Pros: Location, look of the room.
Cons: Inconvenience of the room.
Location: Next to the cathedral, really nice.
Staff is friendly and helpful, though the room is quite unhandy. It's a nice difference from a standard hotel, but for longer than a night it's just a little annoying. There is a reason why 'normal' hotels are set up the way they are.
