Disappointing for that price !Posted Aug 25, 2014
Cons: smell , aircondition, tv size
Location: all kind of sea actions
The lady over there was polite and nice but.... The air condition was very old and couldn't hold the heat! The room was fairly clean but .....It smells bad. TV screen size was lees then average computer screen. Any other cheap motel could be at the same condition with less money to pay:(

Lovely room but not very friendlyPosted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: The room was very nice and large and well furnished.
Cons: The service
Location: Was just driving through and it was a Sunday night so everything was closed.
Our room was lovely but our experience in checking in was unpleasant. Had to wait for the clerk to get off the phone for 20 minutes without even a nod to us waiting for her. Rather abrupt in attitude. Had a nice breakfast but it was not a typical bed & breakfast. There was no warmth to the place and the staff seemed to be annoyed that they had to take care of us. We missed the charm of what we have experienced in other B&Bs.

Convenient B & B to townPosted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: Convenience to town
Cons: Needs some upgrading to stay with the rest of this historical town. Update drapery and set better expectations for staff. Some staff seem lax.
Location: Good restaurants and nice shops for browsing. Beaches are near by. The Owl is a great restaurant with an outstanding wine list.
You can walk to all parts of downtown. Very easy for shopping and accessing restaurants. Great little Old South town. Laid back and historical.

Coombs reviewPosted Jun 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is a very nice B&B in Apalachacola, Florida. It is very well located and the Mansion is beautiful on the inside. Rooms are spacious and very nicely decorated. The breakfast was very good and it was nice to talk to other guests and learn about them.

noisy, uncomfortable, poor quality breakfastPosted Jun 4, 2014
Cons: where do I begin....
Location: St George Island Apalachicola National Forest Orman House eating oysters!
The historic building is attractive and nicely restored, but situated right on the main highway leading through the town, making it anything but peaceful as the St Joe Paper trucks come barreling into town. The room we were given was named Heron and along with half the others in the building are right on and facing this highway. The resulting noise did taper down in the evening but starting right up again around 6 am, becoming quite loud and disturbing as I am trying to sleep in on one of my vacation mornings. Naturally this being an older building the doorways and windows are not sealed completely, allowing outside noise to easily seep in. However, the room was quite large, clean and furnished with a four posted bed and antiques. The hot breakfast that morning consisted of frozen tasting baked biscuits and some Jimmy Dean type prepared sausage gravy, along with the standard cereal, coffee and yogurt. Biscuits and gravy may be considered a hot breakfast to locals but is NOT what one would expect in a nice B&B. We asked for a different room for the next night considering the LOUD noise from the highway and were told that they did have another queen room but with jacuzzi at $30 dollar higher. I said that since we did not sleep very well the night before due to traffic noise and have the inconvenience of having to move to another room, couldn't we just be given that room for the same price? Nope, we were off

Great Place to StayPosted May 19, 2014
Within walking distance to the docks, gift shops and great seafood. Quiet place to relax and enjoy the weekend. A real treat to stay in a historic home.

Wonderful B&BPosted May 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
If you like antiques, history and charm this is the place for you. Rooms are small but beautifully appointed. Was nice to meet other guest and visit about each others travels at breakfast which had a number of items both hot and cold. Wish we could have stayed there for another night.

Right In the Middle.Posted Mar 26, 2014
Pros: Not far from shopping, the beach, or restaurants. Grocery store within walking distance or a quick drive. Gas station nearby. Jacuzzi was heaven.
Cons: Some of the staff seemed a little stand-offish. Nobody was outright rude, but it was uncomfortable at times, as though we weren't wanted.
Location: The beach is a short drive (over a bridge, or two). Lots of fresh seafood, oysters are delicious (tried them for the first time). Plenty of shops.
The check-in lady was wonderfully accommodating, we arrived after check-in time (got a little lost using the GPS), and she waited till we arrived and made sure the lights were on for us, etc. She also gave us some restaurant suggestions around town, and gave us a brief tour of our accommodations before departing. By far the most genuinely friendly staff person we encountered. Also note the environment is more of a retired or semi-retired couples retreat. Bed was very comfortable, jacuzzi tub was perfect. Perfect old-timey feel, with porch, sea air and all! With that said expect some creaks and groans, from the floors and doors. Loved the facilities, yet somewhat scary (for the small child in me), at night.

Stay Away!Posted Mar 22, 2014
Pros: Coombs House Inn is a beautiful, historic building.
The management double-booked our room and told us they hadn't heard a thing from Expedia about our confirmed reservation. Expedia personnel described their confirmation process as including a fax to the Inn and a confirmation number, with which the facility is required to respond. I suspect they gave our one-night reservation away to another party willing to stay longer. We were offered an "upgrade" for the same price to the superior room we reserved. This "upgrade" was not a large room (as promised), only had a shower (not the shower/ball and claw tub), didn't have the promised couch and only had a single, double bed. Furthermore, it was in a separate, inferior building to the original Coombs House Inn.
