Conveniently located and providing good food.

Pros: Attractive courtyard area. Excellent dinner.
Cons: The accommodation is beginning to show its age.
Location: Birdwatching was my principal interest, but the pier at Santa Cruz is also worth a look..
It was much better than the Best Western 'Plus' at nearby Carmel, which was a pleasant surprise.

Nice hotel, great size suite. Comfortable beds.

Overall the room was fine, but for $300 I expected the room to be clean. There was mildew in the shower, the toilett flushes veryyyyy slow & the carpet next to the restroom door needs to be repaired. In other words the room needs to be cleaned throughly.

Very nice hotel close to the beach.

Pros: The hotel room was immaculate! The king size bed was very comfortable. Beautiful gardens and landscaping. The full service breakfast was awesome!
Cons: They should inform guests about the coffee maker....to use the provided cups as there is no coffee pot.
Location: The location is right off the freeway, very easy to find. There is a beautiful beach very close by. A must, go to Aptos St. BBQ. It's so good!!
We only stayed I night. We checked in very late, staff at registration was friendly, courteous and helpful. The hotel was fully booked, but still was given a choice of upstairs or downstairs accommodations. There is no elevator for upstairs so I would recommend downstairs. One thing to mention, in the hotel room the next morning I wanted to make coffee. There was no coffee pot so I assumed they forgot to put one with the coffee maker. At check out I mentioned this and I was told I was supposed to use one of the cups provided, it makes one cup at a time. First time with this experience in a hotel. Otherwise, everything was great.

Fun and Fabulous!

Gorgeous gardens and grounds, friendly and helpful staff, sparkling clean rooms, full delicious breakfast, beautiful, inviting foyer... all provided us with a perfect stay at this cozy inn. This little gem is everything you'd want for a weekend ,or better yet, a week-long, getaway by the bay (including a family friendly atmosphere...) We'll be back, and back, and back! The SeaCliff is superb!

The worst room in the Motel?

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Walk from my subterranean room through the beautiful courtyard was nice. Full breakfast with view of pond and out door seating was pleasant. Staff was
Cons: Fix broken stuff and clean more thoroughly. Don't give our room to anyone except people you don't want to return to your motel.
Location: Right off of the freeway. Easy to find. Ample parking.
Many beautiful courtyard views but mine was eye-level with blacktop of parking lot. Bathroom was for wheelchairs but we were not handicapped. Toilet seat was loose and had to hold the handle to flush. Found used water bottle and shoe under the bed. Made reservations 2 months early so don't know why we were treated like this. Won't be back.

Nice Atmosphere

Posted Jul 18, 2014
The hotel grounds were charming, and the resturant in the hotel was delicious. Unfortunately we didn't realize that we booked a handicap room, which is why it was so much cheaper. So there was no bathtub, just a shower curtain next to a wall. The hotel room smelled weird and they never came to clean our room. Other than that it was a nice place.
