Nice place away from home.Posted Mar 24, 2015
We've stayed here several times when we 're transporting our granddaughter to/from Humboldt State University. It's comfortable, the price is modest and the breakfast is good. We'll be back.

Pleasant stayPosted Mar 10, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: Better sound proof between rooms.
Location: 30 minutes from Redwood National Park. 10 minutes from Eureka.
We stayed here for 2 nights. Convenient location closed to freeway. For the price they charged I didn't expect much. Hotel staff was friendly, complimentary breakfast includes eggs, sausage, and waffle, which is better than other hotel breakfast with donuts and bagels only. The walls between rooms are quite thin, you can hear you next door neighbors' conversation.

Overall Below Average Hotel ExperiencePosted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: They had some hot food item choices for breakfast. There was a nice flat screen TV that included Showtime. The shower and bathroom were fairly nice
Cons: Deodorize room. Provide extra blanket in room. Have a controlled temp refrigerator. Assure daily attention by housekeeping staff!
Location: An absolutely beautiful area. Mixed habitats of ocean, bay, marsh, mudflats, dunes, forests, rivers, hills and pastureland. Outdoor lover's rejoice
I stayed three nights. The first morning housekeeping staff asked if I wanted my room cleaned that day. I said it was okay to skip it as I had just arrived the night before. The following day I was out all day. When I returned my room had not been touched by Housekeeping - - now I'm going into the third night since there was any cleaning! Trash cans full, no kleenex, dirty linen, no coffee for the coffee maker etc. It was too late in the day for management to do anything except give me some coffee. This is the first time I have had a hotel fail to clean my room my entire stay. Add to this, the room had a less than fresh smell from the get-go, the sink didn't drain well, the refrigerator froze my food (I saw no temp control) and you could hear the neighbors through the walls. Also, there wasn't an extra blanket in the room forcing me to run the heater at night ,which I dislike because of noise and loss of humidity. Without the heater I had trouble sleeping because I was cold.

convenient, dog-friendly hotelPosted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: The location, staff, dog-friendly
Cons: the bathtub grout could use a good scrubbing in the corners and the décor could use an update.
Location: restaurants, grocery store, gas stations are nearby.
I've stayed at the Arcata Quality Inn a few times on my way from Bay Area to Oregon. It is not fancy but it is a convenient stopping place about halfway. The hotel is easy to get to from the freeway, is near a grocery store and gas station and restaurants. The room is comfortable and a good size with a microwave and fridge. the bed is comfortable with plenty of pillows. There are grassy areas for the dogs. The continental breakfast is not fancy, but you can take a cup to coffee and a yogurt or muffin to go and get back on the road. The staff are always friendly and courteous.

Basic room, quiet, can't beat the pricePosted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Dogs allowed, price is good.
Cons: Microwave and fridge should be included in all rooms. Walls, floors and decor could be cleaned and updated a little more.
Location: Quieter on this side of the freeway vs. the other side, and we prefer that. There is a 24 hour diner a few steps away, but we didn't try it.
Nothing special, but ok for the price. Rooms and decor show a little wear and the microwave and fridge was not included in our room this time even though we booked the same as last time - but it was quiet, staff was pleasant, our dogs were allowed and overall it was good for the price. I prefer this location to the hotels on the other side of the freeway that seem to have more vagrants hanging around and are often noisy throughout the night.

Good hotel for the pricePosted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: The price, the location.
Cons: The carpet should be replaced.
Location: Close to Arcata, though not in the town itself.
Good hotel for what you pay, in a good location to go to the beach or go into town. The hallway was a little smelly and the carpet was old and probably shouldn't be looked at too closely, but the room and the bathroom were otherwise clean (the room wasn't smelly) and it was a nice quiet room for the price.

Nice place to stayPosted Jan 14, 2015
We were taking our granddaughter back to Humbolt State University . . . too far to make the round trip in one day. We've tried several motels in the Arcata area, and like Quality Inn very much. It has a nice feel to it . . . a little pricier than some of the others, but worth the extra dollars.

nice basic hotelPosted Dec 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
Comfortable stay in a well maintained basic hotel. We missed having microwave or a refrigerator in this room.
