Ardara Vacations

Ardara is part of Donegal, a major city with a population of 3,000 people. The area sits 19 miles (31 kilometers) to the southeast of Donegal Airport, and just 18 miles (29 kilometers) from the city’s downtown.

Ardara is near a diverse collection of Donegal’s more popular attractions. Among the most popular attractions here are the fabulous Ardara Fort and the fantastic Owenea Bridge Standing Stone. Also, well worth the effort are the Stephen Bennett Studio Gallery and the Sandfield Pitch and Putt Course.

You’ll find plenty of interesting cultural highlights in and around Ardara. Walk through the exhibits and savor the quiet atmosphere of the St Connells Cultural and Heritage Museum in Glenties.

When it’s time to take a break from the noisy streets of Donegal, visit the nearby green spaces. If you are up for a walk take the family to a beach, for example Tramore Beach in Killybegs, Narin Beach and Dorlin Strand. Stretch your legs at Glengesh Pass in Killybegs. Stare out over the water at Lough Doon in Killybegs.

Donegal offers plenty of comfortable accommodation options to pick from, but if you’d prefer to be based close to Ardara, check out the rooms and rates at the Woodhill House.
