Pleasing for the price. Close to town, helpful staff, a cheap and clean place to stay overnight.

The staff, a man, his aunt, and I assume his wife are very nice and the man speaks very good english. He had a map of several tours which pick you up at his place. BE PREPARED to pay in cash for any tours. I don't know if he takes credit cards for your stay, because I prepaid Expedia. The shower has electric heated water. I've seen these before on mission trips. This is the first one that has actually worked, but you will not have much pressure. A sign in the bathroom asks you to not put your toilet paper in the toilet because it can clog the toilet. I wonder if it is because there is no waste treatment in town, his place is not hooked up to it, or the toilet really may clog. The wind howled all night both nights. I am not exagerating. It howled all night long! I was surprised that the windows which look toward the Gulf of Nicoya were not broken or the roof did not come off. By the way these windows are in a small common area. There are only small windows at head height in your room. Parking for four cars at most is tricky to get in and out, steep and sharp turn at bottom.

“Look elsewhere”

This hotel is difficult to find, down a steep rocky path. On arriving, the man at the reception desk will immediately try to sell you a lot of tours. They first put us in one room, and while we were touring the next day, they moved us to a very small room without asking us. The room had enough space to just to move around the bed. It was heated by the afternoon sun so it was an oven when we arrived with no ventilation possible.You cannot put toilet paper after use in the toilet...and there is cold water in the sink. One positive note, the breakfast was good.
