Fabulous Hotel!Posted Nov 26, 2013
Pros: The stunning hotel with beautiful landscape overlooking the Arenal Volcano, the staff are super friendly. And the hot springs pools are to die for!
Cons: Nothing! Just keep up the good work.
Location: El Silencio del Campo is 5km from the town of La Fortuna. The La Fortuna falls which is a must. Kayaking in Lake Arenal, zip lining, water rafting..
Costa Rica is a beautiful country with lush vegetation. We stayed at El Silencio del Campo. We first hike the La Fortuna Falls and went for swim. The next day we went kayaking at Lake Arenal then stop at Tabacon hot springs ( a must do!) After Arenal we took the Interbus to Manuel Antonio. Another must see and do place. The park has stunning beaches, more wildlife, mangrove kayaking at Damas Island. Overall we had a great time!

Lovely and adorable hotelPosted Sep 8, 2013
Pros: Beautiful and livery garden. Independent villa-style guest rooms. Hot springs. Nice people. Wonderful views of Arenal Volcano.
Cons: Bathroom and plumbing. Room entrance door (doesn't stay closed unless locked).
Location: Located about 5 km away from La Fortuna downtown. Right next to Hotel Royal Corin.
This hotel features a beautiful garden like a paradise where 24 villas (guest rooms), a reception house, a restaurant, pools, hot springs, a thermal spa, a jacuzzi, a bar, and a lotus pond are nicely placed with a wonderful view of Arenal Volcano (if the weather is good). But their guest rooms, especially bathrooms and their plumbing, need to be upgraded or improved. We stayed at room #3 and had some issues with the bathroom. For instance, we saw a sign on the bathroom door requesting guests to put toilet paper in a trash can instead of the toilet bowl, which we didn't felt very comfortable with. Then the toilet bowl got clogged (even with no toilet paper) and the floor was flooded. Also, hot water didn't come out (only warm water came out) of the shower, etc, etc. The restaurant was like a petit family restaurant - the foods were OK but not very impressive. People were very nice and friendly and we were happy with our stay overall.

La Fortuna Hotel with beautiful poolsPosted Sep 3, 2013
This place was terrific. Was a pleasant experience from beginning to end. Nice room with comfortable beds. Stayed in 2 different rooms and both were excellent. Others reviewers mentioned room preferences but to be honest any of them would be just fine. The one closest to the street may not be my choice but the 23 other rooms are great. There is even one that has a small play area out front if you have young children that need to be entertained. They have the most beautiful pools each with a waterfall and most you enjoy privately. Also others have mentioned a hotel nearby and please don't let that stop you. It should not be something that hinders you from staying here. You can not even see it through all of the trees and there is no noise coming from it since you are on the backside of the hotel. It feels very private. We only had 1 night booked here and went to our next location in Monteverde and ended up cutting that portion of our trip short just so we could come back for 2 more nights. Plan on spending one day here (or more) just relaxing and enjoying the bar and pool. The restaurant was wonderful and drinks out by the pool are only $6 which is a bargain compared to others in the area. The other 2 places nearby with springs were so over crowded and seemed like Disneyland with tourist buses coming in. Absolutely my favorite place that we stayed (and we even rented a private home).I really just cant say enough good things about this place

Comfortable, scenic, well located hotelPosted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: quiet, nice views, clean, comfortable - lots of bird local bird life - great hot springs on location - good food - handy parking
Cons: Can't think of much - perhaps improve the pathway over some of the streams...seemed to be cracking apart...minor
Location: quiet...out of town...lots of hot springs....hiking...birding...volcano watching
Hotel El Silencio del Campo was in a great quiet location, close to hot springs, with views of Arenal volcano, weather permitting. Facilities themselves were tidy, clean and comfortable. Staff was attentive and helpful. Breakfast was very fresh and tasty. Lunch was very well prepared as well. Terrific that they had their own hot springs at the back of the property...they were well maintained and scenic. There was a bar handy, increasing the enjoyment of the warm waters! The plethora of flowering plants attracted lots of local birds...so it was great to walk around the property and watch the avian life. Eliomar was prompt at responding to questions about the hotel and booking tours for us. We did a hike on the volcano with Canoa Adventures...and then took in the Tabacon hot springs...definitely worth an evening. Guide was very knowledgeable and informative. I would definitely recommend this place for this part of Costa Rica.

Great HotelPosted Aug 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was our first time in Costa Rica, and out of the two hotels we stayed in this was our favorite. Very friendly, and helpful staff. Breakfast was great. Loved everything about the hotel, specially the views.

Great grounds and large roomsPosted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: Rooms were very large (helpful as we were 4 persons). Breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed sitting on our patio and watching the birds.
Location: white water rafting, hiking
We stayed 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Used as a base for white water rafting and hiking near the volcano. Enjoyed the grounds, the large rooms and the hot springs on site.
