“Above and beyond service; great view of the volcano”

Will write a more extensive review on other websites, but suffice it to say, the service was above and beyond - was able to book things with the hotel from afar and ask them questions via email which required them to contact adventure companies for me. Always prompt with their response. Very good breakfast which is included. Beautiful view of the volcano. They have their own hot spring and spa. Great staff - very helpful. Would DEFINITELY visit again.

“Wonderful, lush gardens, awesome hot spring & spa, wonderful staff. Loved it!”

We had a great time and highly recommend this hotel. The staff was very helpful and curteous. The facilities are clean. The gardens are amazing. The hot spring and spa are great too. The restaurant serves good meals at reasonable prices. It is obvious that the owner really cares about the hotel and ensuring that everyone has a good time. We highly recommend it.

“Nice place with wonderful attentive service.”

Large room with open beam ceilings. The rooms are separate units so there are no common walls. Clean and comfortable but not luxurious. Beautiful grounds and hot springs/spa with bar service. Hot springs are open late. Nice restaurant for late dinner (opened til 10:00pm) and wonderful morning breakfast that is included. Outstanding front desk help from Elio. Swimming pool area is separate from the springs and spa and although clean was a bit on the small and anti climatic scale. The only drawback, and this has nothing to do with the hotel or it's operation, is the huge out of place Hotel Corian that was practically built on top of this tasteful and quiet property. But after remarking on the intruder's gargantuan size and ostentatious design one soon forgets and enjoys the setting that feels as though it was designed and meant to be a world of it's own.

“Beautiful”

Check in was as smooth as can be. They even brought us a lovely fruit drink as soon as we arrived, so welcome after a long hot drive! The grounds are stunning with gorgeous and meticulous landscaping. Everything is pleasing to the eye. The layout of the cabins allows a good amount of privacy. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well-appointed. The pools are clean and sparkling and it was fantastic to have a thermal pool all to ourselves. The staff is genuinely helpful and accomodating. The breakfast, which is included, offers several choices and was very good. The location is fine, out of town but not too far to hop in for a meal, shopping, etc. If it's not cloudy you have great volcano views. And how about that free facial -- I thought I was in heaven. What a beautiful, special spot. Kudos to the owners and management.

“One of the Best in Arenal”

This hotel is a little gem of a hotel in Arenal - with cottage like rooms, true from the heart genuine Costa Rican service from every member of the hotel staff, a little warm water spring and very quiet ambiance. Food in the hotel restaurant has the taste of good home cooked food and yet served in fine dining style. We stayed here for 4-nights along with our 2 teenage daughters in early June - after having spent few days in North West part of Costa Rica in a big resort near the beach. So our 1st impression of the hotel/area was that it is too quiet, has very dim lighting in the rooms, no phones in the room and no hand-shower in the bathroom. However, slowly the hotel's charm grew upon us. Over the duration of our stay we realized that it is truely a gem of a hotel in this area - providing probably the best value for money including food quality, staff attitude and area ambiance. We did quite a few activities in the area - and were able to arrange the same from the reception desk. If we get a chance to go back to Arenal again, will definitely stay again in Hotel El Silencio del Campo.

“Highly Recommend”

This is a beautiful garden of individual cabins all facing the volcanoe. Gardens are immaculate. A pool of hot water from the volcanoe awaits your aching body. What an absolute treat to stay in this magical garden.

“Peaceful and Beautiful while you rest up for all the action.”

We were really impressed by the friendly atmosphere of La Silencia del Campo and especially the little surprise elements that the staff provided made it a very special stay. We were on the go with activities all day, so the natural hot springs were a great way to unwind before and after dinner. We aet dinner there at the little restaurant and found it to be very good and very reasonable and fun to speak with the other guests there and compare adventures from the day. The staff was also accomodating in preparing our (free) breakfast "to go" when we had an early start planned. We loved the grounds including all of the interesting fruit trees in the orchard. We booked based on recommendations on Tripadvisor and from Danny Jimenez, the driver who we booked to drive us from San Jose to La Fortuna.

“El Silencio - A Costa Rican Treasure”

El Silencio was exactly what we wanted in a small resort. The grounds are manicured with the most beautiful flowers and trees and fountains and pools. All space is set up to provide privacy and make you feel your room is your own little cabin in this paradise. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. This was our first time in Costa Rica and we were having trouble just getting acclimated so this place proved to be a wonderful entry point. The only recommendation I would suggest is this place seriously needs ceiling fans. The ceilings are high and we wouldn't have had to use so much AC if we could have had a fan, both in our room and in their restaurant. I would definitely stay here again, it was wonderful and a great value compared to the other hotels in the area.

“Tranquility in Costa Rica”

We enjoyed our stay at Silencio Del Campo from the minute we arrived. The cold smoothie drink brought to our family upon arriving was welcoming. The grounds and gardens were beautiful. The large hot spring pool was an added bonus as well as the front porch (on each villa) for morning coffee. The rooms were spacious and very clean. There is no clock/radio in the room and the TV stations are very limited in Spanish. The breakfast is free and pretty good also.
