“Good value, moderate hotel, would use again.”

Moderate hotel good value; nice property in good neighborhood - walk 2 or 3 blocks to heart of Fortuna and restaurants. Friendly, helpful staff. I would return and recommend to friends. A mini-fridge would be nice, but would probably increase the rates a little. A good base for area tours and activities.

“I would recommend this hotel. Affordable, sweet in a lovely area for touring.”

We had plans to see the Arenal National Park in Costa Rica and using Expedia we booked a stay at the Hotel San Bosco in La Fortuna. The volcano Arenal overlooks this sweet town and is quite breathtaking to see. The main street is filled with local people/families and tourists..but it's not overwhelmingly full of tourists. The Hotel San Basco is a few blocks off the main street which is refreshing. It has a beautiful view of the volcano and the plants are rich and colorful within the hotel grounds. The room was basic and and sweet and what was very nice was the price. Very reasonable. The pool area and breaksfast site are attractive and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The neighborhood felt safe as well. The hotel has tours arranged from the site and they are helpful with making arrangements for you..our total favorite trip (in all of Costa Rica) was the Rain Forest Canopy-11 bridges tour, we also enjoyed zip lining and hot springs and wet/bar at Los Lagos, a beautiful waterfalls in the area and the volcano tour. I would recommend the Hotel San Bosco in La Fortuna to my friends and family.

“Much better than expected!”

The price of this hotel was the lowest among the four we stayed during the trip. But it offered the best breakfast and was located in a very convenient location. The recptionists were very patient and helpful.

“Beautiful and restful”

Beautiful hotel just off the main street in La Fortuna. Rooms were small but lovely. Only downside was that the TV was up high on the wall and since the room was so narrow it was hard to watch TV. Our other room had the TV on the dresser. Open air tipical breakfast was lovely.

“Perfect place to relax and two steps away from downtown La Fortuna”

Hotel San Bosco is a great low-key place to stay right in downtown La Fortuna. The hotel has its own parking area and courtyard area with pool. It is a great base for families or anyone who wants just to relax after traveling all day. It is very comfortable but not luxurious. The hotel staff is very friendly. I already recommended the hotel to travelers I met later in our vacation.

“Loved Lafortuna”

Hotel San Basco was in a very convenient location near the Arenal Volcano area. Check-in was quick and our room was really big. There was a nice pool and two hot tubs. For the cost I expected something much less and was very pleasantly surprised. I would definitely recommend them.

“Perfect hotel for LA Fortuna Costa Rica!”

If you are going to La Fortuna, this is the hotel to book!! The hotel is centrally located in town. You can walk to town to site see, shop and grab food. The hotel had great breakfast, fast internet, cold A/C, was clean and the hotel staff were very helpful! There are fancy hotels on the volcano flow side...But, you will need to take a taxi into town from those hotels. Also, the lava has not flowed since Oct/Nov 2010 - so those other hotels are not a big benefit! A couple of hints: Book your excursions at Fortuna Hostel (see Manual). The hostel is two blocks away from San Bosco and Manual has the best deals for excursions. Don't eat at NENE's Restaurant - EXPENSIVE (and the food was terrible!) Eat typical Costa Rican meals at "Sodas" for good value!

“Best Hotel in La Fortuna!!”

We're so glad we chose San Bosco after seeing all the other hotels in La Fortuna, it was the nicest & the staff was very helpful & friendly! Great for the price, we would definately go back. However, what no one tells you, is you CANNOT see any eruptions of Arenal Volcano from La Fortuna, you have to drive to the other side of the volcano! There are a lot of hotels better situated, but outside of the city. So either way, if you're going there to see eruptions, rent a car to drive to see the volcano, every night, you never know when will erupt, or you'll need it to get into town, otherwise you're stranded at your desolate hotel, but will have good views of volcano...

“Just what we were looking for!”

My husband and I stayed stayed in Fortuna, at Hotel San Bosco for a full week and really enjoyed our stay! After looking around at many of the other hotels in the area, this one offered us the best location (directly in town) at the best price. When we checked in with the front desk they were very polite and helped us out with the area and answered any questions that we had about things to do, places to go and other things. Our room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels and sheets. It was also a bit of a treat to come back every day and see that our towels had been transformed into fun animals trimmed with freshly picked flowers from the courtyard! We had a very simple and nice breakfast every morning by the pool. The hotel location was perfect for us, as it was directly in town, which gave us the option to walk around town to all the shops and restaurants. We would recomend staying at Hotel San Bosco to anyone and will stay there again next time we visit fortuna! Thanks for the hospitaltiy!
