Best view of the Volcano

Posted May 22, 2015
Pros: Friendly helpful staff, lovely views of the volcano from the patio
Cons: provide transportation to town or to hotel entrance
Our cottage/room had one of the best views of the Volcano from our balcony/patio area. Our balcony was surrounded by various tropical trees and plants. Our room was very spacious, neat and comfortable. The hotel restaurant/bar area also has a very scenic view of the Volcano. The hotel also has a swimming pool and jacuzzi. The breakfast spread is pretty good - gallopinto (rice and beans), plantains, potatoes, pancakes, toast, meat, eggs, coffee, tea, juice etc.

Very nice and clean. Staff is wonderful and friendly. So close to nature. And that is what brought us to Costa Rica.

Dark room, surly staff

Posted Apr 13, 2015
We stayed here 2 nights and as soon as we got in the room, I was online seeing what other hotels had availability. There was a horrible smell in the room...likely their freshener. Couldn't air the place out as the windows didn't have screens. It was very dark in the room so felt depressing. The restaurant was super overpriced and the wait staff very unfriendly. We ended up sticking it out as all other places were booked. Oh, it was very cloudy too so we didn't manage to see the volcano, which didn't help our feelings about the stay.

Sweet Serenity

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Location: Hot Springs, ATV riding, Waterfalls
I can happily say Lomas de Volcan exceeded every expectation I had of Costa Rica. Immaculate, peaceful, Tropical Paradise setting and comfortable bungalow lodging at the foot of a Volcano. Add a friendly and attentive staff and there's no reason to look elsewhere. This is the place to stay while visiting Arenal, Costa Rica.

Stunning.

Cons: The food. Not bad but not great. Such a beautiful place to eat.
Loved this property, hated to leave. I don't know if you could get any closer to the volcano. It is amazing to wake up and step outside to your private porch and stare up and there it is right in your back yard. The property is beautifully maintained. Some wildlife going on. Loved it. Can't wait to go back.

Ruhig gelegenes Hotel in wunderschöner Gartenanlag

Posted Mar 26, 2015

Good hotel for great value

Posted Mar 13, 2015
I booked this hotel last minute and was very satisfied with the facility. The room was very clean and the hotel property was very well kept. It is located closer to the town of la fortuna which leaves you a couple of kms away from the Arenal volcano park. We rented a car so this was not an issue for us. My boyfriend and I were very pleased with our stay and would love to come back.
