We loved our stay! the hotel and staff were wonderful and the hotel was so close to nature, if there was a downfall it would be lack of sleep due to the wonderful noise of all the night animals and insects and the alarm clock of all the birds waking at dawn. its like your camping in the middle of the forest.

Great stay for our FamilyPosted Dec 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Celebrity suite was aweseome. View of volcano was awesome. Grounds were great. Pool was good - food was very good. However, I do recommend that you make sure you know how many people are *really* staying in your room. We were traveling with our 2 children and a grandma in tow. Normally, we would be able to fit 3 adults and 2 children in a standard room. Lost Iguana did not allow us to do this (even though the standard was plenty big.) So, our options became "2 rooms" or "Celebrity Suite" for about the same price. We chose the Celebrity Suite -- it was a no brainer - it was an awesome room with bunk beds, separate bed for grandma, awesome view of the volcano, "outdoor shower" -- was a great experience overall.

stunning view, gorgeous roomPosted Dec 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
This resort is just beautiful, as was our room, with a great view of the volcano Arenal. Food in the restaurant was good (not great, but good), drinks were also good but not great. The location was a solid 20-30min drive from La Fortuna, which didn't seem substantial but if you plan to leave the resort for dinner, etc the drive can be daunting with twists and turns in the hills at night. One thing I'd suggest is that the resort put more lights along the pathways, both for walking and driving, as it is very dark at night and hard to find your way. overall we loved our stay, mostly due to the beautiful room and view, and gorgeous grounds.

An amazing place to stay. View from the rooms can't be beat. Hiking trails on site are amazing. Scenery around the resort is incredible. Overall can't be beat. The only down side is it is a $30 taxi ride to la fortuna so if u don't have a car you are kinda stuck there which is fine because there is plenty to do at the resort and you will want to spend time thete.

Lost (and Sneaky Good) IguanaPosted Oct 31, 2013
#1 - FANTASTIC view of Arenal. Our patio had a perfect view of the volcano which was literally framed by the lush flora around us. We stayed at other places and none had this good of a view. Yes, the room was a bit musty - but you ARE in a rain forest. If you expect there to be no moisture in the air, please ask yourself how a rain forest works. By all means, take a walk on the trails behind the property. They are free and other places charge $25+ for this feature. They are also a 5-minute golf cart ride to the hanging bridges - which the front desk will get you a discount on. And the hanging bridges are a MUST!

Fantastic ResortPosted Oct 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
A fantastic resort. Incredible scenery, great rooms, terrific staff & excellent (somewhat expensive) restaurant. The only negative for us was that its not close to town or other resorts/restaurants so if you want to go shopping or eat out its a $30 one-way cab ride.

It was just okPosted Aug 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were there for 4 days. Service was ok, not great. The food was ok, not great. The pool is nice and the hiking trails nearby are nice...overall pretty average and ok if you get a good deal on the room rate. Othwise I'd go elsewhere.

A wonderful resort to experience the beautiful hum of the rainforest. First visit to CR, and was very, very happy with Lost Iguana. Every aspect of this resort was impressive and would absolutely return here.

Our Arenal Volcano experiencePosted Aug 17, 2013
This is beautiful area and the resort is a must if you are going to the Arenal Volcano. It has all the luxury but at the same time you are surrounding by nature. The staff is very professional and kind plus the food is really good. Do not miss the SPA. Also very closed to the hanging bridges.
