Pros: Location, pool, scenery. Almost everything!
Cons: Door entry into the lodges could use a little better fit to keep the huge variety of bugs out. Absolutely no Wifi in rooms but perfect in the receptio
Location: 20 minutes from Skytrek ziplining and 30 minutes from La Fortuna.
Beautiful location far away from the other resorts. Made things a little hard to get around but that was the reason for booking here. Taxis were a little costly into Arenal Volcano Park. Breakfast buffet was outstanding but dinner was just decent. Absolutely loved the two level pool and swim up bar! Had crazy awesome view of the volcano and lightening storms every night! Cabins located in thick lush jungle was amazing!!

Great Hotel, Far From Everything...Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: The pools are great! Very friendly staff.
Location: Hanging bridges are close and fun. The volcano is close (but was shrouded in fog the entire time we were there). Some river activities nearby.
The two pools are wonderful, the food was quite good. Our family enjoyed our stay there very much. It is a close drive or a medium length walk to the hanging bridges activity, which was fun. There are coatis that live at the hotel and they were fun to see. I guess I might warn guests with mobility issues that the hotel is on a hill, so there's some steep walking from rooms to the pool or the restaurant. But, the hotel will drive you anywhere you want if you give the front desk a call. It's pretty far from La Fortuna (like 15 minutes) but it was one of our favorite hotels.

Loved this hotel. Amazing location in the jungle, could have asked for a better way to start our honeymoon. Can't wait to go back.

Ideal location with excellent views of the volcanoPosted Jul 2, 2014
Had a fantastic time at Lost Iguana. I would return there in a heartbeat. The staff bends over backwards to make guests feel welcomed. My only gripe are the pillows. They were uncomfortable for me, but then again most hotel pillows are.

Great stay in the rain forestPosted Jun 16, 2014
Tremendous hotel with very friendly staff set in the rain forest with great views of the volcano. The setiing is tranquil, and a little isolated, so you really feel away from everything. I realy enjoyed a two day stay and will come back soon

Great Hotel near ArenalPosted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: The staff, the food, but the view is priceless.
Cons: Wifi was a little sketchy.
Location: Near hanging bridges, Arenal National Park, and 20 minutes from La Fortuna
The staff at Lost Iguana was awesome (especially at the bar.) They really made us feel like guests. The food was much better then we expected for hotel food. The hotel is a little out of the way from La Fortuna, but worth it for the peace and quiet and abundant wildlife. Also, it was pretty close to Arenal National Park and the hanging bridges are right up the road. Loved ending the day on the patio in our room or at the bar, with a lovely view of the volcano, fireflies, and the sounds of the forest surrounding us.

Great place to stay in the Arenal/La Fortuna area!Posted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: Beautiful location - beautiful and large rooms - great/friendly bar and restaurant staff!
Cons: WiFi in the rooms
Location: Great location near LOTS of activities.
Wife & I spent a couple of days here during our CR "field-trip" exploring lots of different areas. The hotel is beautiful and very well-kept. We may have missed the fact that we didn't have WiFi in our room (only at the reception area), but that was a surprise to us. Parking the car and then walking up to the room (or walking down/up to breakfast) was a pretty good hike, but not a problem -- just be aware that the rooms are pretty-well spread out over the compound. Overall, a great place to stay - very near to Arenal Hanging Bridges, The Springs Resort (and Club Rio activities), etc... Never got a great view of the volcano, but that's the weather and not anything the hotel can control obviously!

Nice viewsPosted May 14, 2014
Large rooms, with great views facing volcano, overlooking forest. Overall, the facilities are somewhat "tired" (at some point, they will be converting at least some of the rooms to condos - but one will still be able to rent). Having said that - it's still a nice hotel. As mentioned by others, the restaurant food was mediocre. Had a breakfast buffet one day (good), and a la carte the next day (fair at best). Hope for the buffet! The spa was excellent - we had the couples massage. The front desk staff was quite efficient, and the golf cart to the rooms (if necessary) worked out fine. Beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean. Nice experience for us

Great place to enjoy naturePosted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: It's setting.
Cons: The restaurant dinner. Not terrible, just average.
Location: Zip Lining, Horsebask Riding, Rafting, Nature walks, LaFortuna,
Very quite, cozy, relaxing atmosphere. The staff were very accommodating, and informative. The Restaurant left a little bit to be desired for Dinner (chicken over fettuccini came over egg noodles) and was a bit pricy, but the free breakfast made up for it. The deluxe 2nd floor room was nice, with a comfy bed, an A/C that kept it cool, and a fantastic view of the Arenal Volcano from the balcony. There are plenty of activities within a short drive (most provide transportation for a small fee $10-15) and some within walking distance, and the trail is quite nice too. I would recommend this place for those looking for a nice, quite, nature seeking vacation. We spent 4 nights here, then traveled to the Pacific coast for a less secluded stay. I enjoyed both equally well, while my companion preferred the seclusion of the Lost Iguana. One thing that totally amazed me, was that never once was I bothered by insects during the entire stay. I took 3 bottles of repellent, but never used any.

Amazing choice - but need a carPosted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Views and rooms
Cons: Should maybe make clear that it's far from La fortuna, but that's evident if you look at a map.
This was a fantastic choice in the Arenal area: great views of the volcano, amazing room, great food and facilities, helpful staff. Only issue for some is that you need to have a rental car to get there easily; it is not close to La Fortuna and it would be tough to get to without a car. Bonus: it is right next to the Arenal Hanging Bridges (which is worth a visit).
