“Favorite spot in Monteverde”

We loved the hotel, the jacuzzi, the view, the guided night walk and the food. The staff was wonderful. We had only one complaint. Twice, we were asked to move from a table in the bar (after we already had our drinks and snacks) because it had been "reserved" for other guests. No indication of a reservation was on the table and there were no other places to sit. It made me wonder what was so special about the other guests that we were bumped for them. Other than that, the entire stay was wonderful.

“Beautiful Lodge in excellent location”

On our arrival we were greeted with a welcome drink. The grounds were very well groomed and had some walking trails around the garden behind the resort. The rooms were very clean and all overlookied the garden. I cannot say enough about the staff. They went above and beyond helping us. The wait staff in the restaurant and the bar were extremely attentive and just could not do enough for us. We went at a very good time of year, as it was the end of high season and the hotel was not that occupied. We were in walking distance to town, which included a grocery store and plenty of good restaurants. We were also in walking distance of an Ecological Sanctuary that we really enjoyed hiking the trails there. We were surprised that there was no air-conditioning or TV, but did not miss either too much. We would highly recommend this resort.

Can't say enough about the quality of service of the staff at this Hotel! Juan in the dining room and Francini at the Front Desk were exceptional. We would definitely return.

This is a lovely hotel with a wonderful staff, and the best food I've had in Costa Rica. We had a wonderful experience here, in every way.

Staff very accommodating. Food well prepared. Accommodations nice. It's a tough travel road if the driver doesn't know his way. Town is good for a cruise. Lots hikers and backpackers.

It is hard to find anything bad to say about the Montevede Lodge and Gardens - the rooms, the food, the staff and the grounds are all first class. Yes, there are less expensive places (and more expensive) places, but it would be hard to beat this quality.
