Excellent hot Spring resortPosted Oct 6, 2013
Pros: Hot springs
Excellent 4.5* hotel but falls a bit short on being a 5* hotel but the Springs are outstanding and deserve a 5* rating. The staff is very friendly, the hotel rooms are a bit oldish and could do with some refurbishing. The prices for food are on the higher side. All in all we loved our stay there and adored the hot spring resort

Close to Arenal parkPosted Sep 18, 2013
Pros: Spa and Hot pools
Cons: They say short walk to Spa, but steep hill and stairs at night.. best take shuttle
Location: Arenal Volcano... hiking, rafting, zip lines, amazing jungle experience
The hotel is very close to all sites including the Parque Arenal. The Hotel is very nice and the staff was attentive. The real selling point is the amazing Hot Water pools that are part of the property. We didn't realize how large the area was until we visited in the daytime. at least 50 hot water pools and water falls to enjoy. They say it is a short walk from front desk..but take the shuttle! We dined at the hot water spa, went downstairs and changes into suits and enjoyed the swim up bar and the many areas to relax in the water. Truly a must do if your in Costa Rica!

right next to Park ArenalPosted Sep 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is very convenience if you want to spend some quiet time doing hiking and kayaking. After the activities, the hot spring is amazingly great. My five year old love the pools, which actually are make from a part of river. We love it.

Nice and comfortable hotelPosted Aug 30, 2013
Pros: I loved the king size bed that was very comfortable and the free shuttle service to the hot springs.
Location: The location was ok, it was about a 10 minute drive to the local city center. I would recommend the lava lounge for a fun place for a drink.
Tabacon grand spa thermal resort was a wonderful experience. I would recommend staying the night and going to the hot springs after the sun goes down, less people and colder weather. The staff was friendly and very helpful, for example free shuttle service to the hot springs. I would also recommend the combo tour of waterfall repelling and white water rafting!!

The rooms were at best ordinary - no better than a room at a Select Inn or of that standard. The whole hotel needs an update. It looks and feels like it is the 70's. The food served in the hotel is, at best, simply mediocre . As a hotel which proudly displays a "Leading Hotel of the World" and a five star rating in its lobby it simply doesn't live up to those expectations and standards. The spa area, however, is wonderful. If that is all you are seeking from your visit to the hotel then consider staying there. Otherwise, you should consider staying elsewhere if you are visiting this area.

Nice place - a bit busy with buses with tourists.Posted Aug 18, 2013
Pros: I liked the vegetation and the room. Food at the hotel is EXPENSIVE.
It is nice that hotel stay includes the ticket to Tabacon Hot Springs.

Amazing Resort! Can't wait to go back!Posted Aug 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Tabacon was an AMAZING resort. Although it was a bit pricey you are truly pampered. Our room was amazing (just the basic room) and featured everything to the finest detail (bathrobes, chocolates, turn down service, toothbrush kits in the bathroom, etc.). The hot springs were amazing as well! The food at the buffet restaurant and Los Tucanes was amazing. Can't say enough good things. Hope to go back sometime soon!
