Friendly staff, clean rooms but far from townPosted Aug 17, 2014
Cab ride to town was 10 dollars, don't attempt walking there not because of the length but because the narrow roads make it extremely unsafe. The hotel itself is isolated but frankly it has everything you may need. Even the souvenir shop surprised me as there prices were equal to the prices in shops at La Fortuna. Food and drinks are a bit overpriced but the environment and service is wonderful. Loved the hot springs (although man-made), the pool and the jacuzzi. They were not very busy during my stay perhaps because it was the wet season. Overall our experience as a young couple was great.

A room with a view and it's own mineral hot tubPosted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Loved the private outdoor mineral hot tub. Was amazing!
We upgraded to a room with it's own private, outdoor mineral spring tub with a view of Arenal volcano. The lush tropical gardens and steaming mineral pools were everything and more that we had hoped. Would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Costa Rica.

Affordable luxuryPosted Aug 12, 2014
Location: La Fortuna Water fall, Tabacon Hot Springs, Arenal Hanging Bridges
Wow what a deal! $108 total per night for a luxury resort including breakfast and taxes. Each of the room faces out to a beautifully landscaped and natural terrain. There is a sense of solitude. Walking to the restaurant, you pass by amazing flora and fauna. The view of Arenal Volcano is great (on a clear day). There is a small hot (warm) springs – but don’t expect what you get from Tabacon. We had a gourmet dinner there – and not unreasonably priced. The breakfast is wonderful. The entrance and pools are classy. You cannot go wrong at this place!

Location: Exactly 7 kms from La Fortuna (shopping and restaurants) and Arenal volcano national park.
Excellent service. Excellent meals at the restaurant. The hot springs & gardens are beautiful. I had left the vehicle lights on & and a staff member came by our room in the evening to warn me. I was very grateful. Exactly 7 kms from La Fortuna and Arenal. Secured entry on hotel grounds.

Great hotelPosted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: The staff was friendly and the room was beautiful. The shower is huge.
Cons: the internet service and thin roof
Location: Arenal volcano, La Fortuna Waterfalls, zip linining, white water rafting
We had the junior suite with the private pool. It was beyond beautiful. The staff was very friendly. The meal prices are very reasonable in the restaurant. The internet only worked in the lobby and restaurant. Also, the rooof was thin so the rain woke me up.

Great location, a bit touristy, fun place.Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Pools were great. Happy Hour. Attempt to save energy. Landscaping was first rate.
Location: Near volcano, near hanging bridges. Both worth doing. Both relatively inexpensive. Volcano 30 for our family of four. Hanging bridges was around 60
Great location near volcano, hanging bridges. You can't really see the volcano because of the clouds, but it's still a great view. Wonderful gardens throughout, actually a bit too perfect for my tastes. Place is designed for American tastes. Most guests enjoyed the 2 for 4 dollars beer specials from 4 - 6. The "spring" is relatively authentic and is quite nice. The free breakfast is great. If you are one of those people that complain, shame on you. Probably 40 items to choose from. Rico's PIzzeria is a nice nearby restaurant that combines local/American taste sensibilities. The rooms are fine. Everything is somewhat eco friendly which is nice. A great bargain that is pretty nicely designed throughout. Workers are pleasant and don't seem to mind tourists so much. Place is great for families/newlyweds, pretty much anyone. If you're worried about crime here, don't. Great price for a really nice stay. Kids loved it.

Wish we could have stayed longerPosted Jul 16, 2014
Cons: The only real drawback is the location. With the addition of a shuttle into La Fortuna, I don't think it could be improved.
Location: Hot springs, hiking, kayaking, horseback riding... What isn't there to do?
The Volcano Lodge and Springs has everything you want to enjoy a vacation. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and clean. The restaurant has great food at a reasonable price (very nice, considering it is not really walking distance to other restaurants). The grounds are lovely and the staff is very helpful.

Perfect hotel across the volcanoPosted Jul 7, 2014
Hotel was perfect and well located near everything. Breakfast was included which was good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hot springs in the hotel was open 24 hours so you can always jump in at any time. The dinner was a little expensive but it was good food. Overall this is a perfect place to stay for your vacation!

Nice but not that nicePosted Jun 10, 2014
Pros: Just location, very near from Tabacon springs and Arenal National Park entrance. (by car)
Cons: Customer service.. the guy at the mini market was really nice but the fact that the reception people didn't do anything for the noise was disappointin
Location: Tabacon Spring, eating at Rana Roja!!, Arenal National Park, Canopy.
I was planing to take mi dad to some relaxing vacations. He is very difficult to please, he likes places that are eco-friendly and with a lot of nature around it and simplicity at the same time. Our room was located between two room full of underage kids (5 or 6 per room) jumping screaming and doing anything you can imagine that is annoying from 4pm trough 11 or 12am. We call several times to the reception and they didn't do anything about it. The springs were not really that hot and really small and so artificial.. it doesn't compare to the ones of Tabacon.
