Great classic hotel!Posted Apr 8, 2015
Loved the colonial style building, decor an fresh flowers, rooms are well appointed and comfortable, very good breakfast selections, friendly staff. One of the few in Arequipa with a big secured parking lot!

Sehr schoene GartenanlagePosted Feb 19, 2015 on Hotels
Hotel ist sehr ruhig in einem Park gelegen. Schoene Poolanlage. Trotzdem noch recht zentral. Placa de Armas ist 8 Haeuserbloecke entfernt.

Family tripPosted Jan 11, 2015 on Hotels
We stayed for 2 nights after a whirlwind trip to Machu Picchu and Cusco. It was just what we needed as it has a very relaxed and luxurious atmosphere. The staff were very nice and spoked English. The accomodations were beautiful.

Luxury from a Bygone EraPosted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: The architecture was incredible. The hotel was built in 1940 and has been very well maintained. The great staff is the icing on the cake.
Cons: A larger television set in the rooms would be nice and the hot tub should be hot and ready at all times.
Location: Go see the Santa Catalina Monastery and Plaza de Armas in the city center.
The Hotel Libertador is easily the most luxurious hotel in Arequipa. Set in the middle of a great park overlooking the city, this hotel's layout and grounds resemble a grand estate. Visitors will feel like royalty the moment they arrive. The staff is very attentive and extremely helpful. The rooms are large and modern with every convenience today's traveler's expect. The food is wonderful and, in fact, as good as any that can be found in Arequipa's restaurants. While the location is a bit further from the Plaza de Armas than other hotels, the 15 min walk or 6 Sole cab ride is worth it (and really, 6 Soles is ~ $2.10, so c'mon). Cabs are plentiful, very friendly, and can be arranged by the hotel. Almost all of the cab drivers will help with bags and so will the hotel staff. Best of all, the service is top notch. Guests will never wait very long to be helped with bags, checking in, checking out, or getting suggestions for sites to see. The Libertador also has a doctor on staff should the need arise. This palace of a hotel and incredible staff are a jewel of Arequipa and of Peru in general. Make plans to stay at the Hotel Libertador.

Great hotel in ArequipaPosted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The outdoor area by the pool. Great spot for breakfast.
Cons: Lighting in the rooms could have been a little more. It was dark at night and to do some work, the lighting made it difficult.
Location: Not sure about what to do nearby as I didn't have any time to explore.
My stay was a very pleasant experience. Breakfast by the pool was lovely and the welcome drink was very appreciated. The staff were friendly enough and spoke enough English. I would recommend the hotel and loved the overall environment for the two nights I was there.
