“Will not go back UNLESS they get NEW beds.”
The price was right, the location perfect for our needs, the staff were pleasant HOWEVER, the beds were terrible. Mattresses were lumpy with the ability to feel springs, the beds themselves squeaked loudly with just about every breath one took so rested we absolutely were not when we checked out. In addition, our room overlooked the noisy chatter outdoor hot tub, so sleeping in was not an option. Servers in the dining room at breakfast were pleasant but hopelessly inefficient. Lots of people running around, but not getting our breakfast in a timely manner. 1/2 hour to get an order of bacon. Otherwise, a charming spot, lovely village, interesting castle and great pub grub with lots of Scottish smoked salmon. Yummy!
