Great for a track get away!Posted Jul 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
Rooms were fantastic! Lots of space to spread out actually live in. The restaurant was small, but the staff was very friendly. Beautiful area, but not much around it- to be expected to calabogie though. This hotel was a very welcome change of pace from the surrounding motels!

My disappointing visit to Calabogie Peaks ResortPosted Jul 11, 2013
I am a frequent visitor to Calabogie Peaks, having family cottages there and beiong an avid skier. I needed to stay in the hotel to make room for family visitors. The surroundings of the hotel are run-down and poorly maintained. The roon though clean, lacked in basic commodities. There was for instance a shortage of towels in the bathroom. Breakfast in the hotel's restaurant was another disappointment. Breakfast buffet was mediocre at best and the poor lonely waitress clearly lacked the nece3ssary skills to serve.

Great family vacationPosted Apr 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The whole family had a great stay at Calabogie Peaks, able to ski on the Saturday at the adjoining ski hill and sit out on the patio having a few drinks in tshirts soaking up the sun and looking over the ski hills. The hotel was very comfortable and as we had a condo the kitchen facilities were most helpful. The cleanliness was top notch but the maintenance could use a little work. There were a couple of loose bits around windows and doors but nothing that interfered with comfort. Dinner at Catchooks was nice, wait staff very friendly. The scenery around the resort is fabulous and we are thinking about bookign a summer vacation to use the lake!

conveniencePosted Mar 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
We went for a ski trip for two days. The hotel/resort is right at the bottom of the ski hill. It is very convenient. The room is clean and the fireplace is nice.

Nice people, poor service. Too expensive for what you get.

Not worth the price.Posted Dec 24, 2012 on Hotels.com
Just because the competition allows for $150/night, doesn't mean you don't have to deliver value for the price. The room was only functional, although there were no ski resort specific amenities such as ski tuning areas. The bathroom was poor and run down and housekeeping consisted of making the bed and changing the one towel I used. Dirty glasses weren't even changed. definitely not worth the money. Do yourself a favour and look at cheaper alternatives nearby.

Great staff mediocre facility.Posted May 22, 2012
Pros: Great staff
Cons: Overpriced resturant, beach area needs work.
Location: Calabogie is nice area and hotel is well situated.
A little run down. Very nice front desk staff. Restaurant is pricey for what you get but wait staff was very good. Beach area was run down.

Calabogie Peaks HotelPosted Feb 28, 2012 on Hotels.com
I liked the design and layout of the hotel. It is very convenient to stay at the ski hill. My main concern is with the lack of training of the hotel staff especially the front desk. Even though I had prepaid for the room I waited thirty minutes to check out because I had billed the restaurant dinner to my room and the overnight staff had not opened the receipts to process them. Also, check in time is 4:00 which seems late and the room wasn't ready until 4:15. We ate at the Canthooks restaurant and many of the vegetables were "sold out". There is no place to store your skiis, we had to leave them in the car as the check in desk told us we can't take them into the room, even though there seemed to be a place to store them behind the hotel room door. Be careful when you pay for the ski tickets at the ski lodge, I overpaid by twenty dollars as the visa machine doesn't show the amount, the cashier just states it. Only when I checked my receipt later did I realize I had been overcharged. As much as I loved the building and charm of the area I would not go back as I felt I overpaid for the quality of service the hotel provides.
